When a terrorist bombing destroys the Kremlin, the United States government initiates a black ops "ghost protocol" and disavows the entire Impossible Mission Force. Ethan Hunt and his team are to be blamed for the attack, but are allowed to escape as part of a plan to enable them to operate in the dark, outside of their agency. However, Hunt is warned that if any member of his team is captured during their mission, they will be charged as terrorists planning to incite global nuclear war. Ethan is then forced to work with ex-IMF agent Brandt, who knows more about Hunt and his past than even Hunt himself.

Directed by Brad Bird and starring Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway, Simon Pegg, Tom Wilkinson and Michael Nyqvist, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is set to hit theatres on December 21.

People can have their personal opinions about the guy but how many actors, outside of Asia, would even consider doing something like this. Cruise has a HUGE set of grapefruits to even step out of that window.

He was a Gymnast and a Wrestler in his youth. If you watch his old movies he does hand-stance walks and flips. He would have been an awesome CBM lead...

In his youth he could have done a lot. People always get on me but I always fealt he had the depth for Wolverine. If you slap "Born on the 4th of July", "Mission Impossible 1-3", 'Minority Report", & above all "The Last Samurai" you pretty much have wolverine. All he would have to do is put on 2o lbs of muscle and he would own IMO

I would love to see Tom Cruise in a CBM role. After seeing Kevin Bacon in X-Men First Class I am convinced they can make it work.

I'm not a huge fan of his but he is one of those last few actors who truly does everything including the stunts. Alfred Hitchcock would be proud

Dude is one crazy mofo! There's not enough money in the world to get me to do that. I'd have a heart attack just looking out the window that high up! Anybody know who does the version of the M:I song in the video? It's pretty kick ass! Hope that's the version they go with for the movie!

Hats off to Tom Cruise as one of the few actors out there that don't mind getting the bumps and bruises themselves!

Jackie Chan has been up that high jumping from a balcony to another without wires (I think it's in First Strike). HOWEVER! Jackie Chan isn't the topic of this thread, Cruise is. And that was flat out insane and awesome at the same time. Guaranteed money for the rest of my life taxless wouldn't get me to do that.

Cruise is a pandering ,sycophant desperate for fanboy approval knowing we can make or break a film.
He most likely does his own stunts because Scientologist's believe in reincarnation. So he probably feels he has nothing to loose if he crokes.
@ teabag- You're right. I had a close friend who was raised a scientologist. They phuqued up her mind but good! One example: She broke her tibia in half, but her parents refused to take her to the hospital, telling her to use her 'positive mind-power'-? to cure herself. The girl was 11 ! Now her arm is crooked and has chronic pain. That's the tip of the ice berg, and I'm not exaggerating one bit.

Say what you will about his acting and personality, you can't deny that he is skilled at doing stunts. Not many actors are as dedicated to stunts as he is
