David Guivant, from New Caledonia South Pacific Island, takes his love of sci-fi into his talent for digital animation and visual effects. His fan-made trailer for Invincible Iron Man TV Show three years ago garnered over 440,000 views and now he’s translating his fandom of classic animes and mangas in pursuit of his new project, Captain Future (Live Action Anime).

Based on the sci-fi pulp hero of the 1940s and 50s and subsequent Japanese anime of the 1970’s, Captain Future will follow “Curtis Newton, a brilliant scientist and adventurer who roams the solar system solving problems, righting wrongs, and vanquishing futuristic supervillains.” Guivant’s version is set five years after the course of events in the novels and animes.

The project is all produced in 2D only, following director Kazuaki Kirya's footsteps (Casshern, Goemon) where cartoon and live action collide.
