CONFIRMED: Marvel Studios Will Release FOUR Different Trailers For AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY In Theaters

We've been hearing rumors that Marvel Studios has multiple trailers for Avengers: Doomsday ready to go for a while now, and earlier today, it was reported that the studio intends to release up to four different teasers for the next MCU event movie in theaters.

This has now been confirmed by THR, who also provided a few more details on plans for the rollout.

"Disney is sending theaters four different trailers for the Marvel mega-movie — each will play for one week, before switching to the next. So, if you see Fire and Ash opening weekend, you’ll get trailer one. If you go a week later, you’ll get trailer two, and so on."

So, if you want to see all trailers, you'll obviously need to buy four tickets to Fire and Ash.

No word on if or when the teasers will make their way online (there's speculation that an amalgamated version of all four may release at a later date), but we'd be very surprised if at least a couple of them weren't leaked.

Whether the trailers will all connect or only feature slight variations is not clear, but The Direct editor Jack McBryan posted the following.

A supposed breakdown of the first trailer was shared on Reddit. We're not buying this one at all, but have a read through and see what you make of it.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars were recently hit with significant delays, with Doomsday now set to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026, and Secret Wars positioned for December 17, 2027.

Both movies will be directed by the Russo brothers, who also make their MCU return after helming Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame

"Being able to create stories and explore characters within the Marvel Universe fulfilled a life-long dream of ours, and we discovered a powerful connection with audiences in each film that we made. We’re thrilled to collaborate once again with Kevin, Lou and the entire Marvel team to bring this epic adventure in storytelling to new and surprising places for both the fans and ourselves”, said The Russos in a statement after the SDCC panel.

Doomsday will star:

Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Florence Pugh as Yelena, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, and Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent

Along with Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Tenoch Huerta Mejia as Namor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, and, of course, Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

@Mongrol -

James Cameron complained a few weeks ago that if Avatar: Fire and Ashes isn't a success and profitable, he won't make Avatar 4 and 5.

Here's Disney's strategy to make it profitable: always at the expense of Marvel fans, whom they consider a surefire goldmine.

The thing is that Avatar 1 copied the Pocahontas story but in the space, but the special effects and 3D technology were groundbreaking in 2009, and the Oscars were its main draw.

Avatar 2 was more of the same. And Avatar 3 was more of the same again, but with a runtime of 195 minutes. The question is, do Marvel fans love the Avengers saga enough to spend the money for four tickets and waste 780 minutes of their lives watching Avatar 3 in a month?

Especially after all the disappointments and garbage produced since Endgame. WOKE indoctrination, unappealing characters, bad scripts, and convoluted multiverse stories that not everyone understands unless they've seen 15 movies and 10 TV series beforehand.

@lvcl - I believe, and this may not be true across the board, if you walk out of a movie before the first 30 min, and complain to management the movie sucks, you can get a refund. Not saying it’s ethical, just saying it’s possible.

Go see this 4 times. Can't I just strip, cover myself with honey, and lay on a fire ant bed instead?

@DocSpock - If only the portable personal technology existed that would allow the typical movie fan to somehow record the image on the screen and then transfer that recording to some sort of social-media platform/thing-a-ma-jig in which EVERYONE could view it without the necessity of being forced to pay 4 individual times for the same movie just to view the 4 variations of trailers.... 🤔 What an incredible world that would be if something like that really existed! 😃

@SuperiorHeckler - how do the 4 trailers even work? How would you know which you’re getting? When Clue the movie released in theaters, different theaters had different endings, but there was no way to know. When it was release on home video, they just put them all in there as “this is how it could have happened, OR, like THIS, OR, like THAT, but THIS is how it really happened.

LOVE Clue the movie. But the point is, how would you even guarantee you’d see all four trailers, even if you went to Avatar 4 different times??

@Santanaonfire - As others have alluded to; don't expect full blown 100% different and separate trailers but anticipate individual new scenes being strategically inserted into the established format of all 4 instead. 🤨

Each one teasing the incursion with Doom narration and Reveal.

1 - teases the incursion from Main MCU timelines point of view (Sam’s Avengers and Thunderbolts. Possible surprise Black panther reveal)

2 - Teases the incursion from Fantastic Four timeline, with emphasis on Franklin Richards. Perhaps with extended cut of Fantastic Four mid credit.

3 - Teases the incursion from X- Men timeline.

4 - Is either the mashup of all previous 3 or teases incursion from Tobey Spider-Man timeline. Make it look like Spidey 4ish. Have Kirsten show up, bring back nostalgia to general audiences and u have hype.

That would be my guess we’ll see.

If accurate, this is gonna fricking suck.

It's focused a lot on the Fantastic Four aspect, but that film underperformed and the most divisive aspect of that film was the casting of Reed Richards... who rather than fighting Dr.Doom in this trailer is instead fighting Bucky of all people?

Franklin Richards being the MacGuffin for the movie, guess they are hoping that the audience really give a damn about this random child character they shoved into a movie a majority of them won't have seen. Doctor Doom stealing a baby? It's parody tier.

Return of the X-Men and they are cucked to the point Magneto is getting his ass handed to him by a guy wearing metal armor, with the mansion being destroyed for the umpteenth time. A generic CGI robot army again - this time with the Sentinels.

I don't expect this to be a box office bomb, but I'm certain they desire a box office of around Infinity War or Endgame and I don't think it'll reach near that. It's dumb having your entire first trailer for this rely on people liking the recent Fantastic Four movie and liking Pedro Pascal who many feel is overused.

Banking on the fanboys to drive up the ticket sales for avatar. Lol, smart.

And when avatar 3 makes over 2 billion the same people spewing hate will be the ones who went to see it a couple times to see the Doomsday trailers.

Ironic. Lol

@Conquistador -

Avatar: $2.923bn
Avatar 2: $2.343bn

The timing may be a factor, but I wouldn't be surprised if Avatar 3 struggles to hit $2bn this time. Potential for this to become a declining trend.

@Scarilian - this ain't passing 819 million.
Conquistador
Conquistador - 12/12/2025, 8:11 PM
@Scarilian - I also think it may struggle

BUT...

How many times did Avatar 1 re release to get to that number..

The wait between 1 and 2 was 13 years whilst between 2 and 3 was only 3...

Like you said timing may be a factor, but this why Disney is employing tactics of the '4 different trailers' for Avengers to help boost its first 4 weeks, which will also be helped by thr holidays and winter season (as has helped the last 2 movies, same as Spiderman NWH and the 1st Aquaman).
Conquistador
Conquistador - 12/12/2025, 8:14 PM
@KennKathleen - Zootopia 2 just make 1 b after only 17 days.. which wasn't released around the holidays.

I know that's a kids movie, but Avatar 3 will easily get past 1 billion. It may struggle to get past 1.5 or 2, but all the tie in marketing, IMAX screenings and holiday season is going to push it pretty well and they usually have good legs.

Apophis71
Apophis71 - 12/13/2025, 5:49 AM
@Conquistador - It did but that's cos half of the Z2 BO came from China, so it is sort of a part Ne Zha scenario which is a first for an American made animation I believe and unlikely to occur often if ever again, not putting it down for that but important context.

For US films the Chinese market was always highly unpredictable, the studio gets a VERY low cut too, and only become more unreliable in the last five years or so thus no Hollyweird movie can trust they will even get a release there now let alone do well specific to that region.

@Conquistador - people will complain only when Avatar gets it's 78th re-release this week
