WANDAVISION Star Evan Peters On Whether He's Hoping For MCU Return As X-MEN's Quicksilver

Doing the rounds to promote the upcoming TRON: Ares, X-Men franchise and WandaVision star Evan Peters has addressed the possibility of reprising his role as Quicksilver ahead of Avengers: Doomsday...

Evan Peters made his Marvel debut as Quicksilver in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past. In a scene-stealing sequence, the mutant helped break Magneto out of captivity in a movie that only ever vaguely hinted at the Master of Magnetism possibly being his father.

"Peter" (better known as Pietro Maximoff in the comics and Avengers: Age of Ultron, of course) returned in X-Men: Apocalypse and the forgettable Dark Phoenix. Later, Peters made his surprise Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in WandaVision.

When the actor showed up in the 2021 Disney+ series as Wanda Maximoff's brother, fans immediately started speculating about him either replacing Aaron Taylor-Johnson's version of the speedster or being a Variant plucked from the Multiverse by the Scarlet Witch.

We'd eventually learn that he was simply a Westview resident, Ralph Bohner, who had fallen under Agatha Harkness's spell. It was viewed as a disappointing revelation by many fans, and the character eventually appeared in Agatha All Along (where he was still a powerless Ralph, not Quicksilver).

In a recent interview, Peters was asked whether he ever gets tired of the constant questions and theories about his Marvel roles. "No," he said with a laugh. "No, actually. I’m curious. Yeah [I'd return], anything really. I had such a blast playing that character. And, you got to dive a little bit into his home life is weird as it was."

"But, but, yeah, sort of exploring that more would be interesting," Peters added. "And the relationship with Magneto would be pretty cool. Yeah. So, yeah, I don’t know. Knock on wood."

If Peters is going to get another shot at playing Quicksilver, then it should be in one of the next Avengers movies, Doomsday or Secret Wars. However, with the focus on the original X-Men cast and the waters muddied by the TRON: Ares star appearing in both worlds as different characters, it's unlikely to happen.

"I didn't know his last name was Bohner. So, there's that scene where I'm upstairs in my man cave, and I'm explaining to [Monica Rambeau]...she looks at the headshot, and she says 'Ralph Bohner!' And I was like, 'Bohner?!'" Peters said of the big WandaVision twist in 2021. "I started hysterically laughing because I had no idea that my last name was Bohner."

"I knew that from the beginning that he was Ralph, and that he was being controlled by the witch," he said of "Quicksilver" being Agatha's pawn.

It's been rumoured that Avengers: Doomsday will feature a Scarlet Witch Variant who is Magneto's daughter, so perhaps we'll see Quicksilver after all. If it does happen, it seems more likely that Marvel Studios will have convinced Avengers: Age of Ultron star Taylor-Johnson to return.

Maybe the Fox version should get killed and his soul somehow crosses into the MCU into Ralph Bohner who is also killed, similar to what they did with Billy Maximoff / William Kaplan in Agatha All Along.

@tb86 - I was hoping this was going to come out of Agatha All Along! They can still do it.

Hell, they don’t even have to explain it. Just bring him back.

I still think Peters being Ralph Bohner was a fun reveal & misdirect which mysteries need aswell as a nice homage to him being QS in the Fox X-Men films (maybe his name should have been something else but that’s it)….

I know he’s been traumatized and struggling to make a living post Westview as we saw in Agatha All Along but I do hope he still shows up in Wonder Man given he was an aspiring actor himself so perhaps he’s trying to move on and goes to California only to get wrapped up in whatever happens in that show which could be funny but we’ll see.

@TheVisionary25 - I mean the joke name they opted for, although based on the name/nickname in a sitcom of the era he was intro'd in, was badly thought out as few would get the reference and a tad too toilet humor for a reveal at a point when things got more serious drama/less sitcom...

...the reveal itself however that he was just an actor I loved, just better names they could have gone with such as Simon Willains if not planning to do Wonder Man at that point or an obscure Marvel character name they never planned on using otherwise (for me I guess we will never get Whizzer thus Robert. L Frank could have been an option). That or something similar to an RL sitcom actors name that isn't already in use IRL (say Dave Swimmer or even merging actor/character name like Matt Tribiani to use Friends actors/characters) or basicaly a take on his own RL actor name like Ethan Potters for eg.

@TheVisionary25 - Also, totaly should turn up as an actor in Wonder Man, maybe after his trauma registering under a new stage name to move on from the Bohner joke (but wouldn't trouble me if they doubled down on still using that at this point).

he played a young version in the prequels. So it wouldnt make any sense to put him with the adult X-Men cast.

In any case, it should be an older Quicksilver next to Magneto, similar age as Cyclops, Storm and co.

@gambgel - At first, yes, but with all the time jumps he was also older and if Olsen's Wanda is in this as McKellen's daughter then it makes sense he plays Pietro with them. That said, I'd rather see him with Fassbender as we never got to see him reveal he was his son

Is it too much to ask for both quick silvers to appear in secret wars?? I’d like to see Aaron T Johnson vs Even Peter’s in some kind of super speed fight.

@slickrickdesigns - Heck could be fun if even just a brief cameo of all the Marvel speedsters we've had (and any others they feel like throwing in) having a race somehow and others characters betting on them :D

However, yeh, I'd be up for a fight between the ATJ and EP versions of QS in one of the next two Avengers movies :D

remembered that at the time I thought that Evans QS was an evil variant from a House o M like universe, or that Agness was an evil varaiant of Wanda like Lore from her solo comics

Ralph Boner, Trevor Mandarin, Lady Slave “task master”, and others always remind me that marvel was terrible when it came to twist villain characters, always kicking the audience in the nutsack.

@HulkisHoly - agreed, these are Sind of the most unforgivable moments in the MCU, and to what end? I will never understand their reasoning. Other travesties to are Hank not creating Ultron and the relentless killing off of great supporting characters.

@Spike101 -

For real.

Add to the list, shoving in so many useless new characters who have gotten ZERO character development and we probably won’t see any of them after the reboot.

Spike101 - 9/23/2025, 2:53 PM
@HulkisHoly - the Mandarin twist was shocking, Ben Kingsley played him so well up until that point and could have been a truly scary villain.

@Spike101 -

It was such a waste. You don’t get a Oscar winner like Ben Kingsley, plaster him all over the trailers and posters and then trick the audience by turning him into a buffoon.
