It's likely you were so engrossed in the action unfolding during T'Challa, Okoye and Nakia's fight scene in the illegal South Korean casino that you missed some of the more subtle cinematic decisions made by director Ryan Coogler.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. Black Panther opened in theaters on February 16 and went on to gross $202M USD over the traditional 3-day weekend. Over the 4-day holiday weekend (President's Day), the film is projected to gross just north of $235M USD domestically. Worldwide, the film has amassed $400M+. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has stated that director Ryan Coogler is not under contract to return for a sequel but he and the studio definitely want him to return.
