Black Panther has been setting records at the box office all weekend but T'Challa has also been making history on the music charts. The Kendrick Lamar produced soundtrack has entered the Billboard 200 at #1 despite the fact that the sales tracking ended the day before the movie hit theaters. Now that it's actually been released, you'd best believe it will hold on to the top spot for some time to come.

Black Panther: The Album also posted 138.9 million on-demand audio streams for its songs in the week ending February 15th, and that's the biggest streaming week of all-time for a soundtrack of any sort.

It's also the first hip-hop soundtrack to hit #1 since Furious 7 in 2015 and it should be the first album of this type to log more than two weeks at #1 since Bad Boys II in 2003! The soundtrack features an array of stars including Lamar, the Weeknd, Future, SZA, Schoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, Khalid, and Travis Scott. Surprisingly, only three of the fourteen tracks on the album are actually used in Black Panther.

Black Panther: The Album moved 154,000 equivalent units and it's now clear that Marvel's latest movie is a hit in every respect. What did you think of the soundtrack? Let us know your thoughts down below.
