Via MTV Geek, DC Comics have revealed a rather ambitious plan for their upcoming title Justice League Of America, which will be written by Geoff Johns and drawn by David Finch. When the series launches next February, the first issue will receive 52 variant covers - one for each state in the United States, plus Puerto Rico and Washington DC. The initial cover will feature an American flag, while each of the variant covers will depict elements from its respective state. "Given the title of the comic and the year in which we're announcing -- an election year -- we wanted to celebrate the country, as well as the various states," says DC co-publisher Dan DiDio. "We've done a lot of great things with the 'New 52', and now we're putting the focus back on Justice League, with the launch of 'Justice League of America'. We want to make people realize that this is one of our key franchises, and we plan to build it out not just with the main 'Justice League' titles, but other books that tie into them as well."

MTV Geek also reveal that DC Comics will launch two other titles soon - Vibe from writer Andrew Kreisberg and artist Pete Woods, and Katana from Ann Nocenti and Alex Sanchez. Additionally, Green Arrow will be getting a new creative team starting with issue #17, with Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino on board. All three of these characters will be a part of the JLA in the upcoming series, alongside Steve Trevor, Martian Manhunter, Catwoman, Baz (Green Lantern), Star Girl and Hawkman. The team will be taking on the Secret Society of Villains under Trevor's leadership.

I've been excited about this title for a while. Good lineup. Star Girl FTW!

Well I was hoping for Captain Marvel/Shazam or Martian Manhunter... but whatever.

Can't wait to find out when Man of Steel will be released!

@sosthetruth- I would definitely love a new Lobo book. Animal Man has been kickass since #1.

i love Johns' work, but some of these announcements make me happier to be a marvel fan. Please someone just bring Superman back to his due glory. In Snyder(s) we trust - Scott and Zack!

I might pick up Green Arrow if they go the same direction the show is. I read the first few issues of it in the New 52, but found I couldn't stand it. It was boring. Plus he seemed to be a complete pacifist.

i wonder what their last book will be to make it 52 i would speculate it as young justice.
lenire and sorrentino on ga is good but i will miss his i vampire. as far as cibe and katana i dont believe they have much faith in those books with a writer that gets passed around a lot and another a tv writer. i have a bad feeling

Sorry, call me a traditionalist but I'm not itnerested in reading a Justice League book without the orignal league. Manhunters the only thing that makes me want to read it.

Also thank god for the Green Arrow news. I couldnt stand the creative team they had. The books were awful and I love GA!

You know,if it were up to me,I'd have Lobo be the cause of the destruction of the new 52...

Which would actually fit his character,ironically....

Green Arrow may finally be a Good book! It was great during Brightest Dat, but it's been a Train Wreck since the New 52 started!!!

Have no fear fellow nerds! Jim lee said on attack of the show that the writer from gears of war will be helming lobos new 52 title in 2013 and maybe even the legion as well.

Still no Cyborg comic? You make the dude a member of the Justice League but don't give him his own book when other members have three or four books?

Yet another cheap publicity stunt designed to sell more copies than the product warrants. Ugh.

Hey DC:

"I already left you and you're better off left behind..."

I'm interested in a new look/feel for Green Arrow. I like what they're doing with the show so I wouldn't mind going that direction. Didn't really like the new 52 Ollie.

Very excited for this book. Glad to see that they're finally doing Martian Manhunter justice (no pun intended). I really enjoy Johns work on Action Comics, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, and now Justice League. I cannot wait for his take on JLA, even if they are basically the Justice League Detroit. Will be picking this up!

Two more titles that I'm not interested in, wont buy and will be cancelled after 12 issues. Keep trying DC. Your bound to find something you can screw with that might be worth it.

52 covers for one issue? DC, go [frick] yourseleves. I've been a DC collector for well over 30 years but they just go from bad to worse. And JLA will just be yet another title i'll be dropping. This time next year I could well be an ex- comicbook collector.

@HalloweenJack "John's is in my opinion the worst writer that ever came into comics.. how he got so big and popular must have been because he sold his soul to satan, because he sucks so much."

I haven't read anything this stupid since that troll Intruder left this site.....
There is a reason Johns writes for alot DC titles now, his books sell! And why do his books sell??? Because he is a great writer!

@HalloweenJack

Agree.

Aquaman is a fine book... but in most cases, John's writing is extremely predictable and tedious (especially in Justice League).

I think he have too much influence over DC these days... and that's a big mistake.

@Dmon @Pux yeah I know, it's called sarcasm ;P

And Green Lantern wouldn't be the A-lister he is today if it wasn't for Johns.
