The "hate" is because not everyone does a good job on it and the use of shield shapes is overkill. It's like when they put bats on Batman's soles, knees and wheel treads. It gets a bit much.


But when done right the costume rocks

epic! @FrozenDIAMONDZ @Staypuffed I love the new 52 costume actually looks legit and badass and it's alien tech which is great for the plot hole that the old one gave

Overall I think the New 52 Superman costume is cool, except for that stupid collar. If it didn't have that, then it would be perfect.

The New 52 costume is badass and definitely suits Superman, also why does everyone hate the collar?! Am I the only one that likes that part of the costume?!

Way too elaborate. Supes doesn't need armor, so why all the superflous lines? There is no logical reason other than doesn't it look cool?

No it looks like armor on a dude who can fly into the sun naked and be fine.

It's a great cover...the 52 suit? It's not good.
The collar is terrible. Just look at Cavill in MOS suit & see how good that outfit looks.

BvS film suit seems to even have a brighter red now which was needed.
DC..put comic book Supes in the movie suit. DO IT!
