I haven't read anything by DC in years. Bart Sears was still drawing Justice League Europe it was that long ago.

someone refresh my memory, it's supposed to be one Lantern per sector, right? So why are there so many human ones?

And to think, so many people had a problem with me listing The Guardians as the Greatest Super Villains every a few months ago... now look at them.

it's 2 lanterns per sector now... with Guy and Kyle as Honor Guard, only after Kyle obtained 1 ring from each part of the spectrum, he was kicked out of the corps. but retained his ring.

God I hate this Baz character. I liked the fact that he was middle-eastern but for some reason they have to point out his ethnicity at every possible juncture rather than focusing on his character, turning him into a walking cliche. I hope he just fades into the background and Jordan, Stewart and/ or Rayner just takes over again.

Baz is horrible. The whole fact that the ring chose the wrong person kinda flaws the guardians being omnipotent doesn't it?

Simon Baz The only Green Lantern I care about and maybe Jon Stewart from the cartoons, never really knew or cared about Hal, I think Guy is cool and Kyle meh.....

I think Baz has an Upbeat origin story and I have gotten back into green lantern just because of him so if they kill him I know the book I'm dropping I'm just not invested in the other green lanterns

I love when comics kills off a character to introduced another it takes alot of guts to do that and i respect that i like Simon Baz alot so far hopefully after this arc we can get alot more character development from him.

I don't care how you slice it, given that there are at least a billion inhabited planets per sector of the Universe, five humans is unjustifiable. Too many humans!

Im getting increasingly annoyed with Geogg John's subtle liberal leanings. If he has his opinions, cool. I dont like it put in my face so I think I just wont pay as much attention. Why are Johns and morrison the narrators for most of this reboot? Jeez it sucks. So uninterested in this baz guy.

manofsuperguy- Baz is a cliche because at every turn they have to show you how he is an arab-american. I mean in the first issue alone they started off with him watching the twin-towers, then cut to him being harrased at school and his sisters burkha being pulled off, then him being harrassed at an airport and then cut to the present time in which he's driving a car with a bomb into a factory, blowing it up. Now the government thinks he's a terrorist.

Obviously these are experiences arab-american's have to deal with. We get that. Geoff should have peppered the characters story with these instead of showing them all at once to drive the point that he is an arab-american home. Show that there is more to the character than his 'arab-american experience.' Why not just show him jacking cars to help his sister instead of jacking a car with a bomb in it? Why not have the government just think he's a criminal instead of a terrorist?

This was a good opportunity to show that arab-american's are just like very other american, albiet with a unique background of his own, something that is part of his personality instead of the focus of his personality. Instead they made him a characature.

i think gl is the best it has been in a long long time. it picked up at the beginning of the reboot but the black hand story was lame. maybe because i didnt care for blackest night. this new baz storyline has been pretty brilliant by comparison.

When they introduced John Stewart they explored his ethnicity too. They also did this with Kyle later in his run as GL (he's latino). Being Arab is a part of who Baz is. I see nothing wrong with how they're exploring that. I'm a fan of Baz.

On another note, I think this two-lanterns-per-sector thing is impossible (even moreso when it was one per sector). There's just no way that two people can patrol 1/3600 of the universe. Earth had 4 GL's cause it was the home of the white entity and cause earth was the cornerstone of the multiverse. Realistically, one GL per solar system would make a hell of lot more sense. Of course then you'd have millions of GL's.

It's not that I hate Baz as a character, I just hate him as a Green Lantern.
