AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #26: Here's How Marvel Comics Kills Ms. Marvel (And How She Could Eventually Return)

We've known for weeks that Ms. Marvel will meet her maker in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #26, and you can find a full breakdown of what happens - and how Kamala Khan could eventually return - right here.

When pages from Amazing Spider-Man #26 somehow leaked online earlier this month, Marvel Comics wasted no time in very publicly spoiling the story in both an Entertainment Weekly article and across its social media accounts.

It was something of a knee-jerk reaction when only a small handful of people had seen those low-res leaked pages on social media, but the cat was out of the bag, and Ms. Marvel does indeed die in the issue that finally went on sale today.

Using her powers to shapeshift into Mary Jane Watson, Kamala Khan is killed by Benjamin Rabin/Wayeb, ultimately leading to the villain's downfall when he learns the sacrifice he made to his Gods was the wrong one. There's something unique about this wound, however, as Ms. Marvel is unable to heal from it.

As a result, she dies in Peter Parker's arms. The two heroes have rarely teamed up and they've only crossed paths on a handful of occasions while both working at Oscorp. The fact she died in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man is a tad bizarre, though we're assuming this will have a major impact on Spidey in the months ahead.

Unsurprisingly, the response from fans to Ms. Marvel dying as a minor supporting character in another hero's series hasn't been a particularly positive one.

There may, however, be a very good reason for that. We've heard rumblings about Kamala returning thanks to Krakoa's Resurrection Protocols, cementing the teenager as a mutant in the Marvel Universe and moving on from her being an Inhuman...which lines up with what we saw in Marvel Studios' Ms. Marvel!
