AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #69/#870 Resurrects An Iconic Member Of The Web-Slinger's Rogues Gallery - SPOILERS

Today's issue of Amazing Spider-Man featured another shocking ending with the resurrection of a long-dead member of the Sinister Six who promises to be a major foe to the wall-crawler in "Sinister War."

During Dan Slott's divisive Amazing Spider-Man run, Electro lost his powers and ultimately died after the Jackal (Ben Reilly) attempted to restore his abilities. Francine Frye, a woman Max Dillon inadvertently killed, was cloned by the villain and ended up absorbing Electro's powers before his demise, sealing his fate with a kiss that seemingly turned him to ash.

As a result, a female Electro has taken centre stage in the Marvel Universe. She hasn't been the most formidable villain the wall-crawler has faced, though, and many fans have missed the original.

Well, in the pages of today's Amazing Spider-Man #69/#870, we get an epilogue setting up the "Sinister War" event that will feature Peter Parker once again facing off with his greatest foes.

Kindred is up to something, and he recently recruited Doctor Octopus - who is back in his own body and unaware of the time he spent as the "Superior" Spider-Man - to put a team together. Today, he successfully manages to resurrect Electro, revealing that the villain never died and has seemingly spent the past few years unable to reform his body after being obliterated.

This is an exciting development, and it should be a lot of fun finding out how Max factors into this storyline.
