INVINCIBLE IRON MAN: The Rise Of Stark Sentinels Begins Next May As Mutantkind Prepares For All-Out War

Last Wednesday, we witnessed the beginning of an all-new era for Tony Stark in Invincible Iron Man #1! Writer Gerry Duggan and artist Juan Frigeri have taken over the armoured Avenger's adventures, and didn’t pull any punches in their explosive first issue. Now, Marvel Comics has confirmed it's sold out and will return in February with a second printing.

The comic book will receive two new second-printing covers, both of which celebrate the character's iconic legacy by showcasing the many armors Tony has suited up in over the years. First, there's a brand-new piece by superstar artist Mark Bagley, along with Iron Man artist Bob Layton's showstopping connecting piece in all its glory.

The big news, however, is that next May, Stark Industries is pursuing a new venture - the extermination of mutants!

New mutant-hunting Sentinels upgraded with Stark technology will emerge and make their first moves against mutantkind in the pages of Duggan and Frigeri's Invincible Iron Man, though we can't place the blame on Tony's shoulders for that. 

The debut issue saw him hit rock bottom after losing everything, including his own company. Feilong, the mutant-hating industrialist from Duggan's X-Men, is now in control of Stark Unlimited's incredible resources and plans to use them in Orchis' vicious war against mutants.

In the months ahead, this will cause the trajectory of Iron Man's superhero career to change radically and in the process, he’ll evolve into one of mutantkind's staunchest allies. The X-Men will need his genius intellect more than ever as Krakoa braces itself for The Fall of X, with the game-changing event set to see Invincible Iron Man play a key role. 

The impending might of the Stark Sentinels will be revealed in next year's Free Comic Book Day 2023: Avengers/X-Men #1 on May 6. In the meantime, you can check out Juan Frigeri's design sheet below along with those variant covers.
