Scene One
(Setting: It's a dark, stormy night. Lightning cracks the sky as rain falls from the gray clouds over Gotham. Bruce is in the Batman suit, enjoying himself. Smiling and pumping his arms with every heavy step he takes. The lightning's brightness shines across the yellow glaring symbol on his chest. He feels born again. He takes a leap of faith to the alley below him, and sees the sky turn dark, and his legs go stiff. He then looks up to see the sight of himself, as a child walking with his parents into an alley. He tries to scream, but there's ringing in his head, his throat causes him to not be able to speak, he then hears the two gunshots that have haunted him the past 12 years. Tears then roll from his face... he wakes up, panicking, sweating... crying. The setting is now Bruce in bed at Wayne Manor, with Alfred Pennyworth, his trustworthy butler, holding his arms down, restricting him.)
Alfred: Master Bruce, calm down! It was just a dream.
Bruce: Jesus, Alfred-- it felt so real... my dreams don't have me experiencing it... now I watch it happen, and I can’t stop it...
Alfred: Well, maybe you should try to get your mind off it, have fun every once in awhile, instead of running around dressed like a--
Bruce: I've heard that crap come out of your mouth the past 12 years Alfred, and-- I've tried. I'm not too good with 'socializing.'
Alfred: What about that boy Oliver... Okay,you know what Bruce? I'll stop arguing. But remember, they're only dreams. Not reality.
Bruce: Yes, Alfred. Only a dreams.
