About CROSSOVER BATTLES:
These are a series of weekly polls in which I take two comic book characters from two different companies (not strictly Marvel and DC) and you vote on who would win in a fight. A new poll will be posted every week. Voting ends near the end of the week. If you click on one of these articles and the poll is still there, you're vote should get counted because I delete the polls at the end of the week. The results are posted on the following CROSSOVER BATTLE, which is posted the following weekend.
LAST WEEKS RESULTS:
Battle: Knightfall Batman VS The Superior Spiderman
Winner: The Superior Spiderman
66.66% voted for Mr. Octavius and 33.33% voted on the man formerly known as Azrael.
THIS WEEKS COMBATANTS:
Hector Hammond (DC Universe):
Enemy of: Green Lantern
Hector Hammond was a brilliant scientist examining the fallen ship of Abin Sur (read "Green Lantern: Secret Origin" for more) when he was exposed to a meteorite in the ships fuel tank. The meteorite evolved him ahead of his time, giving him mind powers. Hammond not only has telepathy and telekinesis, but can also rip memories out of ones head and keep them for himself (which kills whoever he ripped them out of). In the graphic novel Green Lantern: Brightest Day, it was implied Hector attempted to search Green Lanterns head for nude images of Carol Ferris which GL resisted. His mutation is not without its cons. While it made him a very powerful foe, he now has a monstrous appearance to the point where his head is almost bigger than his body. Also, h can no longer talk and all of his thoughts can be heard out loud. He recently formed an alliance with the New 52 incarnation of HIVE.
The Purple Man (Marvel Comics):
Real name: Zebediah Killgrave
Enemy Of: Daredevil, Jessica "Jewel" Jones, Thunderbolts and The Heroes For Hire
Born in Yugoslavia, Killgrave was a spy who was bathed in chemicals after he was hired to break into a chemical plant. The chemicals made up for his newly purple skin, hair and eyes with superhuman abilities. When he is within talking distance, his skin will release a pheromone that makes those around him obey his every last verbal command. But he has to be within talking distance. He can't do this over the phone, for example. Killgrave doesn't have much of a conscience and will do anything he wants to do if he can do it. As detailed through dialogue in the graphic novel Alias Vol 4, Killgrave once went to Denny's to order some free eggs. He was so annoyed by everyone around him that he told everyone to stop breathing so he can eat his eggs in peace. Everyone in the restaurant died except for the two people making his eggs. Not many people want to get on Killgrave's bad side.
Sorry. Voting has ended.
About The Author:
Welcome, I am Darkknight2149. I am primarily a fan of comic books and their various adaptations, as well as horror and other classic film franchises.
As far as the "DC vs. Marvel" rivalry goes, I'm really not biased when it comes to studios and publishers. Preferences are fine, but I've never understood the basing of opinions purely by the studio/publisher that makes it.
