Hey folks, this is my Marvel Superheroes mural. It started as a 4x10 foot blank sheet of drywall at Home Depot, and has moved with me four times in the five years since I started working on it in summer of 2008. I have worked on it sporadically when I had the time, sometimes feverishly when I had too much time, and sometimes not at all for six or seven months at a time. There have been several additions since I took these pictures in 2012, and there is plenty of work yet to do, like the background and the ground level, which will be littered with easter eggs, i.e. Roxxon Oil barrel, discarded Daily Bugle, severed Sentinel arm, broken Yancy Street sign, etc. I'm currently at 290 characters and counting, with room to squeeze in ten more just to make it an even 300. Each character was sketched on paper, then penciled onto the drywall, inked with black Sharpie marker, and colored and shaded with RoseArt and Crayola color markers. There are all kinds of warts, and I'm not computer or camera savvy, so forgive the photography, but it has been a lot of fun. A few of the characters are drawn straight from a picture I liked of them, but the vast majority are original drawings. And before you ask, yes...Howard the Duck made the cut. He's riding on Man-Thing's back. Hope you enjoy.
