think that a Aquaman TV Show on HBO would really work well it was done right..
- The Show is called King of Atlantis
- In this Show Aquaman has the ability to bend water without the trident ( All Atleantans have that ability)
- Atlantis is destoryed ( Or Arther thinks its destoryed but it actually isn't and he discovers this in Season 2)
- In this show it will flashback from the events that lead to Atlantis's destruction to Present Day
- Aquaman's orgin is relatively the same expect Arthur's mother is secretly alive but had to go into hiding due to her brother Orm who is a main villain
- The Flashback scenes are very much like Rome while the present day scenes are Heroes season 1 mixed with CSI.
- The show will not be connected to the DCU but it won't tie into Arrow..it does its own thing
- Orm aka Ocean Master will be the main villain of Season 1 ( He wants to bring back Atlantis to its former state and kill his nephew)
- A lot of the DC Villains will be in this Show including Vandal Savage
- Aquaman won't get the famous Trident and the new 52 version of the costume till Season 1's finale
- Season 1 will focus more on the Supernatural Investigations with Arthur fighting creatures and Season 2 will focus on Arthur learning more about Atlantis's dark past and how he should be a king..
- It won't be Arrow/Man of Steel dark but it won't be campy either..
- There is a lot of cool action with Arthur bending water to his advantage
- Black Manta will play a big role in Season 1 but won't become a villain until Season 2..
Origin: In this version his father is a famous undersea explorer and marine biologist. During the War of Atlantis that supposedly destroyed Atlantis for good, Arthur's mother is dead ( She isn't but has gone into Hiding), and Arthur's father is trying to solve the ocean's secrets. Arthur's father believed that the Lost City of Atlantis was real and that the love of his life came from Atlantis. He trained Arthur day after day until while Arthur was away, a Business man named Vandal Savage who also believes that Atlantis is real interrogates Arthur's father and one of his goons kills him. Arthur is horrified by the event and decides to keep his powers a secret. He trains to become a investigator..wanting nothing to do with his past. A secret Government organisation decided that Arthur ( They don't know his powers) would be a perfect Supernatural Investigator, dealing with unusable things in the world. Arthur accepts hoping to find out more about his father's death and to see if the secret organisation he is working for has any info on Atlantis. Working as a Supernatural Investigator, Arthur must use his powers to discover the truth behind his past.
Who should be Aquaman:
Liam Hensworth as Aquaman / Arthur Curry
He is a recent actor and some would say he is too young but this is a origin story for Arthur. Personally i feel they would have to use a younger actor to play the role and personally Liam Hemsworth has not only the right look but the right age to play the role. He is not a really famous actor and has been in a lot of TV Shows so i think he would do a great job as Aquaman..but this is just all my opinion. You might disagree.
Costume:
I think in Season 1 they should still have a costume for Arthur to wear (He is not a king yet). But it would be along the lines of this:
For Season 2 when Arthur becomes a king he uses the Trident and has the new 52 Costume
