Okay so my idea is pretty simple instead of spending three films focusing on Jedi and Sith we put our main character in the place of a Smuggler or a Bounty Hunter, I'll name him 'A' because this is just an idea but lets say he has a look of Ryan Gosling lets just roll with this.
Okay so the film takes place around 40 - 60 years after Return of the Jedi and starts of with A on a desert like planet that is home to a huge Casino/Nightclub based city, returning to his latest employer after finishing a big job and collecting his fee, We see the character in full but don't hear a lot from him more his glances at people and species around him as they gamble, drink and party.
We get a feel that this guy is kind of a loner as his employer jokes that he could spend some of his credits on buying some company when the camera cuts to A's eyes and see a hard glare as if to say "Do you know what I've been through?" to which the employer nervously reacts "Or you could just do what yah like with them".
A leaves the employers large tower like home and we see the long stretch of clubs with different species enjoying themselves outside as A makes his way for his ship, we see in the background a large hologram (The Republic News... or whatever?) reporting from Coruscant stating that Jedi Master Luke Skywalker has issued an arrest on someone (the camera pulls away before we hear any more).
Once in his ship A receives a message from a Smuggler friend that a lot of credits could be made from a job concerning delivering Elburt Crystals (a form of crystal that gives off fuel) to a wealthy business man on Hyorra (a planet based on racing) all A has to do is pick up the crystals along with a group of people on their way to the planet from Coruscant.
Once in Coruscant we get a quick look at the Jedi Temple, A meets his friend Alazar and has the crystals loaded into his ships holding bay and the two go for a drink in a cantina, Alazar tells A about how things have changed in Corusant and how rumours of the Royal Family (The Solo/Skywalker Family) fear of a rouge jedi planning something that could take things back to how they were during the Clonewars.
A states he isn't interested in how the republic runs as long as he can get by he'll be just fine but Alazar warns him that things wont always be easy to which A gives the same look he gave the employer giving the audience a feel that things havent always been easy for A.
The next day A welcomes the group heading to Hyorra with him among the group is our Jedi who I'll call B (and since I gave A an actor to have in mind I'll give B someone like Bradley Cooper) with the group settled onto A's ship they leave and set way for Hyorra, A puts the ship into auto pilot and goes to check on the group mostly made up of Racers and their managers A notices B and the two engage in conversation.
A remarks about how B dosent seem like a racer or manager and B informs him that he is in fact a Jedi, A seems shocked and some what uneasy about this but the two talk about the way the Jedi are and B tells A that he is going to Hyorra to make sure the races are legal the way the republic states they should be.
Their conversation comes to a halt when the other passengers begin talk on how their will eventually be a new Empire formed and how the Republic will fall like last time to the Empire A says he believes that although mistakes are often replayed he dosent believe they could go the same way as before.
Once on Hyorra the passengers go about their own ways and A delivers the crystal's only to spot B sneaking about the businessman's palace before B can explain a fleet of guards rush by not noticing the two, A and B over hear the guard captain explain that the man who has instructed the crystals be delivered is not happy with the way that a group of gypsies are living near his settlement, the business man shows that he is not in charge here and that things are getting out of hand.
A and B leave and at A's ship B tells him that he is actually on jedi business to discover the means behind messages the business man has sent to the jedi temple pleading for help against an unknown force using his business as means to fund an army.
A protests says that if an army was being constructed then the republic would know about it but B states the jedi dont know as much as they let on in fact in recent years the jedi have taken a step back from republic affairs, this starts an argument between the two and A says this is not his business and that he dosent need this on his shoulders.
B sets out to find the one responsible for instructing the delivery of crystals and before he leaves turns back to A and says "I feel our paths will cross again, may the force be with you", A decides to refuel his ship before leaving, while his ship is being serviced we see him step out of the servicing centre and looks out at a great desert view taking a deep breath and taking a small disk from his jackets chest pocket.
Clicking a button a small hologram appears showing A and a beautiful woman holding each other, a tear streams from his eye and he quickly wipes it.
Suddenly before A can turn back towards his ship something crashes into the centre throwing A from the platform he was stood on and down into the sand of the desert below, the camera turns back to the city above and see's a huge ship shooting down on the city destroying most of it, killing most of the occupants there.
A wakes up next to a small camp fire with B sat meditating on the other side B tells him that he found him just in time and healed most of his injuries, A stands up and begins to shout at the stars about loosing his ship B explains that he believes the person responsible for the attack is the same person they heard the businessman and the Guard captain talk about but more importantly he believes him to be the man Jedi Master Skywalker warned about (the same guy Alazar spoke of the Rouge Jedi).
The next day they journey into the desert passing a very familiar crashed ship (remember the fan made poster?) A looks at it amazed to which B carries on walking only saying "They put up such a strong fight, but of course those were harder times and at least he survived", coming across an abandoned base A stresses that they spent time for nothing as there is no one here to answer for the crime, B sits and meditates while A smashes up a control panel in his anger when suddenly B stands and states that the force has flowed through here and he knows where to go.
Taking the only available ship from Hyorra B explains that the rumours of a rouge jedi are true 'Lenrin Dalra' was a jedi close to B while they were younglings but as he grew and developed a stronger connection to the force he felt he would go the way of a jedi who had turned to the Darkside at the end of the Clone wars, when Master Skywalker had explained that this would not happen as long as he was true to the jedi way but Lenrin became haunted by visions until finally believing that he was to in fact take a step and strike fear in the Galaxy showing them that they need the jedi.
B had been personally chosen by Master Skywalker and the Jedi council to find Lenrin due to the two being close during childhood, directing A to a small planet far from the Republic B explains that when he comes face to face with Lenrin, Lenrin will realise that he should stop what he is doing and come with B back to the jedi temple.
Once on the planet A discovers that they are being watched, as the two step off the ship they are approached by cloaked beings who tell them that they follow the one that shall return the sith.
A fight ensues with A telling B to go to Lenrin while he holds off the Cloaked attackers with his blasters, A's fight leads to the ship where he finally kills the last one, B confronts Lenrin who is now convinced that the jedi are against him and that he now see's the only way the jedi can become true heroes again is if they save the galaxy from the sith which is what he has become and suddenly attack B as their fight rages and Lenrin easily takes the upper hand using the force to cripple B, A gets flashes of B in pain due to B using the force to warn A of what could happen if he doesn't leave.
We get a flash of the future seeing a ship crash at a farm on what could be Naboo a man (a younger A) runs to the crash site to be thrown back in a force grip a dark Sith Lord emerges from the ship and walks towards the farm house brutally murdering the woman inside, A awakens in the field and with his excellent blaster skills he kills the Sith Lord, In the present A stands up looking focused and states to himself "Its time to face my pain head on" taking a Lightsaber from an unseen pocket in the back of his jacket he lights it and the green blade glows in front of his face as he steps off the ship heading to help B.
