The Dark Knight Animated Series Fancast

A modern Batman animated series based off Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. A Batman cartoon filled with with Tumblers and more grounded in realism.

Creators: David Slack and Aaron McGruder
I chose these two because both Slack (Teen Titans) and McGruder (The Boondocks) are known for their great balance of drama, action and humor which is seen in both of these off-the-air shows (not counting Teen Titans Go!). Slack's vision for the show combined with McGruder's production and writing could definitely fuel a Batman television show and not feel as if you stepped out of the Dark Knight films for a minute.

Jason O Mara as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman
Mara's Batman was really captivating to me in Son of Batman. Alot of fans had some complaints that Bale's voice was too deep and gravely which is why due to it being an animated series it can easily be fixed to where Batman has a deep voice but is clearly understood.

Frank Caliendo as the voice of Lucius Fox
If you haven't seen Caliendo's impression of Morgan Freeman I suggest you Youtube it right now. He can no doubt bring life into an animated Lucius Fox, played by Morgan Freeman in the Nolan trilogy.

Jon Culshaw as the voice of Alfred Pennyworth
Like my choice for Lucius, Culshaw can also be found on Youtube doing impressions of the actor in question, this time being Michael Caine. Considering Caine would most likely be too busy to voice his character I chose someone who could replicate his voice masterfully.

Grey DeLisle as the voice of Selina Kyle/Catwoman
A woman who has done tons of voices I feel she could definitely bring the seductiveness straight from the films. Having voiced characters such as Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy and Vicky from the Fairly OddParents she could be really on point with voicing Anne Hathaway's Catwoman.

Candi Milo as the voice of Talia al Ghul
The assassin and the daughter of the immortal Rah's al Ghul, Candi has provided some very distinctive voices over the years. She's been the voice of everyone's favorite pint-sized scientist Dexter of Dexter's Laboratory, and also Dr. Nora Wakerman. With a wide range of voice roles all being very different she could be THE voice of Talia al Ghul similar to Kevin Conroy's Batman in the animated series.

Ron Perlman as the voice of Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Perlman has already provided the voice of Slade (Teen Titans) and to me he is the true voice of the character. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up with the show but despite that Perlman has a great voice and I'm pretty sure many fans would be happy to hear him get behind the role again.

Scott Menville as the voice of John Blake/Robin
Menville is a good voice actor and has voiced Robin in quite a few adaptations. Seeing him take on the serious cop role at first before seeing John Blake suit up as Nightwing/Robin/Batman depending on what you understood from the end of TDKR would be interesting. Menville could pull great emotion and give life to the character considering Robin was a deep and understood character in Teen Titans.

John DiMaggio as the voice of The Joker
Yes, Ledger's performance as The Joker can't be replicated in live action. However, through animation I feel the creepiness and the charisma Ledger brought to the Clown Prince of Crime can be brought back. The Ledger-Joker voice isn't hard to replicate so I think a professional voice actor could do it fine. DiMaggio has voiced Joker before but it was in a traditional way and I think we need to accept Ledger's Joker as a great medium for the character now. He did voice Dr. Drakken and if you watch Kim Possible you'd know that isn't a far stretch from Ledger's Joker voice.

Steven Blum as the voice of Bane
I may have been one of the few that enjoyed the characterizations of Bane in TDKR, from his voice to his physicality I loved Hardy's performance and to me it proved that Venom was not an integral part of the character.  Having Bane be a smart, calculating powerhouse can make for a better story than just Batman fighting a roided out maniac. I would love for Blum to recreate the great voice of Bane even if it is hard to understand sometimes.

Hugh Laurie as the voice of Ra's al Ghul
I've pretty much always wanted Hugh Laurie to be Ra's al Ghul. Who's to say when if it will ever happen. Considering Ra's got played more of a side character in the Nolan trilogy I can see someone who doesn't impersonate Neeson taking on the role.
