Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. changed the game for comic books on TV.
I would say that Arrow did the same last year, but let's face it, the 12 million rating of S.H.I.E.L.D. suddenly made DC to think about bringing their Superheroes to the small screen.
From all of the DC and Marvel franchises that could be successful and work really good on TV, I think X-men will be the one that really does it.
After all. the first X-men movie really made studios to see comic books movies in an other light, and ever since that first movie, we get 2-4 comic books movie every year.
The X-men movies were ok, but You can't tell the story of the great ensemble of characters that the X-men have in a 2 hour movie.
I don't think the show should have long seasons (23 episodes) like Arrow, they should have about 13 episodes per season.
And I really don't want the show to air on ABC or Fox, they should put it on AMC of FX. Do it little more mature and darker, not stupid and goofy.
The show must deal with what it means to be a mutant in the world, how do humans react to the mutant race, and all the elements of being different in society.
I don't really want to see only beautiful cast on the show, I want to see some good actors on this show.
The first season should show us: Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Iceman, Kitty Pryde, Rogue and few more minor X-men.
I don't think Wolverine should be in the first season. They should introduce him in the 2nd season, let us to get to know some of the other X-men. And I do think we should have some break from Wolverine.
The first season should establish the characters and the world, and have different mutants as bed guys. the main antagonist of should be a former X-men that went bed.
In the 2nd seasons they should introduce Magneto and the Brotherhood, and bring us the Wolverine.
In season 3, Senator Robert Kelly should be one of the bed guys, also maybe William Stryker and the Sentinels, and show us the escalation of the government against the mutants.
In the End of season 3 of 4 they should kill Jean.
Somewhere in season 5 we should have The Dark Phoenix Saga.
From there they could go to any place and any storyline they went.
The show will be great to see characters we never did see in the movies, like Apocalypse and Mister Sinister.
I do think that an X-men TV show could work very well. It could be the next Walking Dead, but it must not be the new Smallville.
