Jessica Alba Joining Fantastic Four Movie?

We all know she’d be great in the Fathom movie but as the Invisible Woman? Seems a waste of great curves somehow.

Jessica Alba (Dark Angel) has reportedly emerged as the leading candidate to play Sue Storm/the Invisible Woman in the Fantastic Four movie.

She’s in the running with Rachel McAdams (The Notebook) and Keri Russell (Felicity), according to Variety.

Other cast members are set, the trade says: Michael Chiklis to play Ben Grimm/the Thing, Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic and Chris Evans as Johnny Storm/the Human Torch.

Alba is also doing a segment of Sin City, the big screen adaptation of Frank Miller’s crime noir comic.

"We see 'Fantastic Four' as the last great jewel in the comicbook crown," Fox production chief Hutch Parker told Variety. "The casting has been extremely important in terms of fulfilling expectations of an audience that's been incredibly loyal to these characters for over 40 years."

Tim Story (Barbershop) took over direction of Simon Kinberg’s script from Peyton Reed (Down With Love, Bring it On) on the $85-$90 million project. Filming begins in August or September in Vancouver with a July 1, 2005 release date targeted. That’ll put FF up against Mission: Impossible 3.
