A QUIET PLACE Spinoff Lands 2023 Release Date From Paramount; MUD's Jeff Nichols Will Write & Direct

According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures has officially dated an untitled A Quiet Place movie for March 31, 2023.

The now-confirmed project, which is based on an original idea from John Krasinski, is not being developed as a direct follow-up to A Quiet Place Part II, but is instead expected to expand the post-apocalyptic universe and will,  presumably, take the franchise in an exciting new direction.

Jeff Nichols (Mud; Midnight Special) is set to write and direct. The film is currently in the very early stages of development, but with a release date now set, we should be hearing a lot more about the project before the end of the year.

A Quiet Place Part II is currently playing in theaters with Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe all reprising their roles from the previous installment. Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy) have joined the cast in mysterious new roles, while director John Krasinski also appears during the prologue as the Abbott patriarch.

The critically acclaimed horror sequel has grossed over $93.1 million globally, which is actually outpacing the original film at this same stage in its release cycle, and has firmly established itself as one of the most successful blockbusters during the COVID-19 pandemic.
