As we first reported on FearHQ.com, FX and Hulu have released the first teaser trailer for American Horror Story Season 13, featuring a who's who of iconic villains and characters from the long-running series' past.

The sneak peek opens with Twisty the Clown (John Carroll Lynch). Later, the spotlight shifts to Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon, Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Evan Peters as Kai Anderson, Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer as Addie Langdon, and Mena Suvari as the Black Dahlia.

Paul Anthony Kelly, who worked with showrunner Ryan Murphy on Love Story, is also featured as a mysterious new addition to the series (the breakout actor is donning a blonde wig for his AHS role).

"'AHS: 13' does justice to everyone’s most feared number," reads the logline. "Featuring an all-star cast, many reprising fan favorite roles, 'AHS: 13' builds on the anthology’s decades-long legacy of iconic horrors—from Murder House and Coven to Hotel and Apocalypse. What terrors await the hallowed halls of 13? Prepare for a supreme surprise."

The cast also includes Joey Pollari, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Avantika, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Zach Villa, and John Waters.

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ned Martel, Charlie Carver, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Tanase Popa, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Jennifer Salt, and Tim Minear serve as executive producers. The series is produced by 20th Television.

"Whenever I tell Jessica or Sarah or Evan [which AHS season is my favorite], they’re like, 'You’ve got to be f***ing kidding me,'" Murphy recently told Vogue. "My favorite season is Roanoke, which is a lot of people’s least favorite season. I liked the structure and the dramaturgy of it. It was challenging for me."

After previously likening this season to the Avengers franchise given that he's assembling so many iconic characters from AHS history, the showrunner wasn't willing to give anything away about Season 13's big bad. "No, it’s a top secret. I can’t. But let me just put it this way: In many seasons, the [characters] have battled the Antichrist."

"The only hint I’ll say is, 'Let’s go above his pay grade for this.' That’s my clue," Murphy added, leaving fans to guess what might be in store for this twisted world when American Horror Story finally returns to our screens next month.

It's also been confirmed that AHS: 13 will consist of 13 half-hour episodes and will premiere Thursday, September 24 at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on FX and Hulu. Week one and week two will see three episodes drop each Thursday, with two more following each week until the finale drops right in time for Halloween on October 29.
