With the news that he may begin EVIL DEAD 4 soon, here are my ideas on how Sam Raimi should follow up his classic trilogy

The EVIL DEAD trilogy consists of three classic films directed by Sam Raimi. The last installment was ARMY OF DARKNESS in 1992. Rumors of a fourth installment floated around until a remake of the original was announced. With that news, many fans assumed that a fourth installment would never happen, until recently. Sam Raimi has stated that he and his brother are planning to work on EVIL DEAD 4 this summer. When I heard this, I was curious as to what that movie would be like. Here are my theories, on three differant parts of the film that I am wondering about:

TITLE: This may not seem like a big deal, but I am very curious as to what the film will be called. With the remake coming out, and the fact that ARMY OF DARKNESS was in 1992, calling a film EVIL DEAD 4 could confuse casual moviegoers. I think if they want a title that doesn't alienate people unfamiliar with the franchise, they should go with:

• EVIL DEAD: RETURN OF THE DEADITES
• EVIL DEAD: BOOK OF THE DEAD
• ARMY OF DARKNESS: RETURN OF THE DEAD
• EVIL DEAD: ARMY OF DEADITES
• ARMY OF DARKNESS: BOOK OF THE DEAD
• DEADITES
• BOOK OF THE DEAD

PLOT: Throughout the trilogy, each film has picked up where the previous left off. For this film, I think they should let time pass, and show Ash as an older, jaded Deadite hunter. With that, here are some plots I would like to see:

• The Book of the Dead is re-discovered, and people seek Ash's help.
• Deadites are all over the world, and Ash travels the world attempting to wipe them all out.
• Someone else, in a differant time period, is accidentally transported to Ash's time along with an army of Deadites. Ash must work to get them back to their own time, and wipe out the Deadites that he thought he destroyed years ago.
NOTE: While I would rather see any of the above, they could also do a prequel and show either the creation of the Book of the Dead, or what happened in the cabin before Ash got there.

TONE: While there were a few action scenes and some creepy moments, ARMY OF DARKNESS was mainly a comedy. If they are going to do a fourth film, they should go back to the tone of the second film; and have it be more of a Horror/Comedy film. I do want comedy in there, but there also needs to be some creepy parts, too.

What do you guys think of Sam Raimi making a fourth installment to his classic franchise? What would you like to see done? Are you excited for the remake? Leave a comment below, and let me know!
