Looks like The Evil Dead is rounding out its cast. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Jessica Lucas - who has previously starred in The CW's Melrose Place - is in talks to join the film, a remake of the 1981 Sam Raimi-directed horror movie. Additionally, relative newcomer Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend Of The Seeker) is set for a role in the flick. If a deal is finalized, Lucas will play "the best friend of the girl going through withdrawal (Jane Levy) who is also a nurse. Blackmore is playing the fiancée of Fernandez and new to the group." The two actresses join Levy, Shiloh Fernandez and Lou Taylor Pucci in the remake, which begins production next month in New Zealand.

Fede Alvarez is directing, while Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell (who previously starred in the original film as Ash) will produce through Raimi's Ghost House Pictures banner.

The Evil Dead is set to hit theaters April 12th, 2013.
