The lovely Sophie Turner (Sansa in Game Of Thrones) has signed on to play iconic 19th century author Mary Shelley in a film detailing her early life and progress as she sets out to write the legendary novel, Frankenstein, while being "drawn into a Faustian bargain with her own “monster” of an alter ego, who offers literary fame at a desperate personal cost." It definitely sounds as if we're in for a slightly more exciting take on the standard biography, as producer Rose Ganguzza explains:

“[It is] the story of the most extraordinary 19th century teenage heroine told in a visceral, sexy, contemporary way. Our film is not a period drama. It is a story of youth that transcends time, a gothic romance, a love triangle that involves a dark passenger and we are tremendously excited to have such an exciting cast onboard this wonderful project.”

Mary Shelley's Monster will also star Jeremy Irvine as Mary's husband and poet Percy, and Taissa Farmiga as her stepsister, Claire Clairmont. Coky Giedroyc (Penny Dreadful) will direct, from a script by Deborah Baxtrom.
