The Night House premiered at Sundance last year to rave reviews, with the majority of critics praising The Signal director David Bruckner’s latest film as a terrifying psychological horror.

If this first trailer is any indication, they weren't exaggerating.

Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3, Godzilla Vs. Kong) stars as Beth, a grieving widow whose husband recently took his own life for no apparent reason. As she struggles to come to terms with what happened while trying to decipher his ominous suicide note, Beth is plagued by nightmarish visions while seemingly being stalked by a ghostly presence. Is it the spirit of her late husband, or something else?

Check out the trailer below along with a poster, and let us know what you think.

Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together—but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure, but the harsh light of day washes away any proof of a haunting. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into his belongings, yearning for answers. What she finds are secrets both strange and terrible and a mystery she’s determined to resolve.

The Night House also stars Sarah Goldberg, Evan Jonigkeit, Stacy Martin and Vondie Curtis-Hall, and is set to hit theaters on July 16.
