Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Northman) has made another exciting casting addition to his planned remake of horror classic Nosferatu, with award-winning star of The Crown, My Policeman and Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Emma Corrin, set to join the ensemble in an undisclosed role.

Eggers is also writing and directing, with Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus producing.

Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard and Nicholas Hoult are already on board for the main roles, and regular Eggers collaborator Willem Dafoe was recently added to the cast. Coincidentally, Dafoe actually played Count Orlock, aka Nosferatu, in 2000's black comedy/horror Shadow of the Vampire. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his chilling turn.

The Northman star Anya Taylor-Joy was originally in line for the female lead, but was forced to drop out due to a scheduling conflict. Harry Styles was also said to have read for the role of Hutter.

This latest take on the silent 1922 horror flick is described as "a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him."

No release date has been announced, but production is reportedly scheduled to get underway later this year.
