Last night, the news broke that Jared Leto is set to return to the DC Extended Universe as The Joker in Zack Snyder's Justice League. It's clear now that the four-part event is going to be much more than just a director's cut, especially with pricey reshoots currently taking place.

However, there's a very interesting reveal in The Hollywood Reporter's piece on the Leto news.

Justice League producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg, who oversaw Joss Whedon's reshoots, have quietly decided to move to the side, and will not receive producer credits for "The Snyder Cut."

As the trade explains, "Sources close to Berg and Johns have confirmed the duo’s intention to remove their names from the Snyder Cut since they did not work on this version and are no longer studio executives. The sources also say the move pays respect to Snyder’s creative vision and the additional photography shoot."

It would be pretty bizarre for Johns and Berg to have been credited as producers on a version of Justice League they seemingly never wanted people to see, though it is noted that the duo's decision to step down is likely unconnected to the accusations made by Cyborg actor Ray Fisher.

Multiple trades are also reporting that Zack Snyder's Justice League is now the "official" title.
