JUSTICE LEAGUE's Ares Actor Says Greek Pantheon Was Supposed To Fight Darkseid While Discussing Contract Woes

While detailing how post-production changes affects his pay from Justice League, Nick McKinless revealed that in Zack Snyder's version of Justice League, Ares has a 1-on-1 fight w/ Darkseid.

Nick McKinless previously disclosed to CBM that he wasn't thrilled with having David Thewlis' face superimposed over his in Justice League but it seems that switch has had greater impact than just not being properly credited.  While the other actors who portrayed Zeus (Sergi Constance) and (Artemis) Aurore Lauzeral are receiving residuals from the film, he is not.

Thanks to a deleted scene from Wonder Woman, murals in a Themyscira temple revealed that it was Darkseid who attacked the Earth all those years ago, not Steppenwolf.  At the time, Darkseid was going by the name Uxas and had not yet acquired the Omega Force, which transforms him into the Darkseid comic book fans know today.  Justice League was going to depict a more powerful "Uxas" returning to retrieve the Mother Boxes as part of a larger quest to discover the Anti-Life Equation.

Per McKinless, his attack on Steppenwolf, as seen in Justice League was supposed to be a 1-on-1 fight with Darkseid, where the Greek gods arrive to turn the tide of battle.
