New Magazine Profile Refers To Henry Cavill As "Former" Man Of Steel

Henry Cavill (seen here with director Zach Snyder) was last seen as Superman in last year's failed Justice League movie, in a truncated role that was a borderline cameo. A new magazine profile in GQ Germany has already called the Superman star the "former" Man Of Steel. Is that an innocuous reference? The jury is still out as various insider sources in recent months have claimed that Cavill (and indeed his co-star Ben Affleck) is out as Superman in the troubled film franchise.

The magazine profile does say that "whether the Briton will wear the Superman cape again is uncertain" but the writing might already be on the wall for many DC fans. Ezra Miller recently claimed that news reports of Cavill quitting the role were unreliable but Miller's own future in the DCEU is far from certain. And Cavill has already taken on the mantle of another iconic role in the form of Netflix's The Witcher that is sure to draw huge audiences and cultural interest as opposed to the stumbling DCEU franchise.

Do you think Cavill at his point is indeed the "former" Man Of Steel? Let us know in the comments section below!
