Nike Release More Info About 'BACK TO THE FUTURE' Shoes

After recent rumors, Nike has officially announced the release of MAG

On the heel of recent rumors, Nike has released a teaser video for their new BACK TO THE FUTURE inspired kicks. Retaining their cinematic name, Nike MAGs will be very reminiscent of their original movie counterparts, however, they will not be self-lacing as previously thought. I know that seems like a big blow to their nerd-cred, but the shoes are pretty cool nonetheless.

Around 1,500 MAGs have been produced for a special Ebay auction benefiting the Michael J. Fox Foundation and parkinson research. The sale went live last night at 8:30 PST so break out the check book and prepare yourself for an epic bidding war!!!

$37,000? Sucks for fans, but that means $74,000 raised for Parkinson's research from one pair of shoes... That's pretty awesome.

I'm hoping that they make a wide-release of them, sometime. I want a pair.

if its all for a good cause, then i for one am glad i can't afford a pair to help out the cause.

37,000 for a pair to the good cause, who can say no to that

Greatest idea in the universe. Hope they do a wider release down the line, too. Doc Brown is my 3rd fave movie character of all time, and, Michael J. Fox is a rockstar for Parkinson's research. Time to reunite the two of them!
