The Matrix: a world within a world, a graphic representation of the databanks of every computer in the human system; a consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate users in the Sprawl alone. And by Case, computer cowboy, until his nervous system is grievously maimed by a client he double crossed. Japanese experts in nerve splicing and microbionics have left him broken and close to death. But at last Case has found a cure. He’s going back into the system. Not for the bliss of cyberspace but to steal again, this time from the big boys, the almighty megacorps. In return, should he survive, he will stay cured.

Last we heard, Vincenzo Natali (Splice, Cube) had been tapped to direct the big-screen adaptation of the seminal science fiction novel. The movie is to be produced and financed in Canada by Prodigy Pictures in conjunction with Telefilm Canada, and is expected to shoot sometime this year. There is no release date set.

"Jack In Soon."

What does that even mean? It sounds like some disturbing and painful form of masturbation.

The precursor to the matrix trilogy finally given its due attention? Hope Walberg and Neeson really are attached.

I really liked the Matrix trilogy, but people who pay attention will realize that it was basically a rip-off of Neuromancer and Dark City. Hopefully, this will be great.

@RorMachine so right. I find it incredible that people see the word Jack and put their South Park touques on. I read the book near 20+ years ago and it was well ahead of its time. I like the quality of the poster. I like the distressed metal mixed in with what is obviously a finger/thumb print. That was the whole point of Neuromancer and what became known as the cyberpunk genre - technology infused with the flesh.

If anything that has my curiosity piqued, it's the fact that this is a Canadian movie ( yay us:) ). A film like Neuromancer was envisioned to show a world that, for lack of better reference, is mix of Blade Runner and Akira. Canadian films are notoriously not well funded. The involvement of Telefilm will help. Can good actors be attracted to this or afforded by the producers? We shall see what happens!
