Below are a few excerpts from the exclusive report over at The Hollywood Reporter. To read more, simply click on the link at the bottom of the page. Interestingly, the site mention that the future of Tron on the big screen may hinge on the success of upcoming Disney XD, animated series Tron: Uprising.

David DiGilio has been tapped to write the sequel to Tron Legacy. Adam Horowitz and Adam Kitsis, who worked on Legacy, were slated to return but got waylaid by Once Upon a Time, the fairy tale show they created for ABC and is debuting this fall.

The vacancy allowed DiGilio to slide in with a take that would build on the first two movies.Since it is early in the development process, it's unclear whether Joseph Kosinski would return to the director's chair.

Despite not being too well revieved by most critics, the 3D movie made a decent profit for Disney at the box office, so news of work going ahead on a sequel isn't really that shocking. What do you guys think of this news? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!
