Bridge Set Photos From The Amazing Spider-Man!

Hit the jump for your first look at a recreated NY bridge which is rumored to be the setting for the final fight between Spider-Man and the villainous Lizard...

Past rumors have indicated that we'll see the final fight between the Lizard and Spider-Man take place on the iconic bridge, and here are the first photos of the blue screen set courtesy of the guys over at Facebook's Marvel Movies. While it could be speculated that this may have something to do with the death of Gwen Stacy, I find that hard to believe, especially as actress Emma Stone is thought to have signed up for at least two more movies!

And here is the real bridge, where filming was taking place just a few nights ago:

With an all star cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Curt Connors, Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben and Sally Field as Aunt May, The Amazing Spider-Man is set to be released in 3D on July 3, 2012!

This better be just some other scene that DOESN'T involve the death of Gwen, because if they have the lizard kill Gwen I'm gonna go from having high hopes for this film to giving it a complete failure before it's even released.....

@joshwilding & @mdr13935 that's not the Brooklyn or Manhattan bridges, that is a picture of the Williamsburg bridge looking towards Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

@codiak92 the are 7 major large suspension bridges in nyc:
BK bridge,
manhattan bridge,
george washington bridge,
williamsburg bridge,
queensborough/59th st bridge,
verrazano bridge (largest suspension bridge in the western hemisphere last time I checked, bigger than golden gate)
whitestone bridge

But there are dozens of other smaller bridges throughout the city

I don't want Gwen dead in this first movie. Maybe in the second or third, but not now.

Nah they wont kill off Gwen here at all, I have a feeling Spidey and Lizard will fight in the sewers and it leads outside onto the bridge or vice versa.

Yeah they definitely need to kill Gwen with Green Goblin in the picture.
They need to do it right though, with Peter snapping her neck with the whiplash from his web grab, it's sadder that way.
Gary Sinise for Norman Osborn!

Interesting, well considering we know Osborn is in the movie nothing doesn't say he can't kill Gwen at the end of the movie to set up for the second.

@ SdProphet- And Charlie Sheen for Uncle Ben's long lost son and Peter Parker's cousin! Sorry, the Sheen jokes are starting to wear thin.

I was hoping the big fight seen between Lizard and Spidey would be at the university. I guess a bridge leaves things open so if Lizard falls into the water and isn't found he can still be recycled in a later film, ala Megatron.

i bet theyre gonna have Proto-Goblin do it
comicb00kguy
comicb00kguy - 5/19/2011, 9:04 AM
Okay, why would the Lizard fight Spidey by a bridge? If memory serves, the Lizard was going to build a reptile army to take down Spider-Man and take over New York. I don't see a bridge as a proper setting for this confrontation. Most reptiles are a bit more ground-oriented.

I really don't think they're going to kill Gwen off, especially at the hands of anyone besides the Green Goblin. Hopefully, we can go just one Spidey film without ANY Goblins. Save him for the next one.

Like the suggestion of Gary Sinise for Norman Osborn. I think he could do a fine job in the part.

Peteyparker - 5/19/2011, 9:06 AM
I just want at least one mid-large sewer fight scene. Y'know like in the comics. Not hating on the movie but its just a fact the reason the Lizard is always running underground because they say lizards (I would have no idea but i like their explanation) like to hide under. So just one fight under i can't imagine all there fights would be on sky scrappers and what not.
Stumblin
Stumblin - 5/19/2011, 10:13 AM
comicb00kguy...lizards are more ground-oriented? Um...how the hell did you figure that out?

Geckos, chameleons, tree lizards, anole lizards, and more I mean there are over 3000 different types of lizards, many of which can climb just about anything...so yeah.

origin stories personally are the only ones that should have exact sources from comic books. other than that, why cant movies have original stories?

Hmmmm it could just be a bridge that they're using for something non-death related... Like Gwen and Pete's first kiss or something so that when she dies there in movie 2 it'll mean more.

Gwen doesn't die in this one. Emma Stone said that she's signed on for sequels :D

NYC has over 500 bridges.

What's all that crazy stuff int he background of the 2nd pic? Looks like Santa's village.

*deep breath

gobie needs 2 kill gwen. not in this one, but kill her nun the less. M.E.W. would be a good MJ but she is to skinny. she needs to gain some weight to be MJ. don't want kids thinking stick thin is the appropriate weight. i highly double female lead of a trilogy would be killed in the first 1. hopefully the 2nd.

@gunsmith
of course they cant have a real goblin. that would suck. we need a goblin in a purple and green suit with real pumpkin bombs. if they did the spidey verses movie monster-esc villein 2 times spidey would be van helsing.

Emma Stone already said in a late night now (I forget which one, it was a while back) that she would have to keep her hair blonde after the movie because of future sequels.

So anyone worried about Gwen's death can rest easy.
