SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Is Now 12th Biggest Film Ever Globally With Astonishing $1.37 Billion Haul

It's definitely a Happy New Year for a certain webbed wonder as Spider-Man: No Way Home has managed to hit the $1.37 billion mark at the worldwide box office to become the twelfth biggest film of all time!

Deadline reports that Spider-Man: No Way Home has managed to swing as high as $1.37 billion at the worldwide box office, becoming the 12th highest-grossing movie of all time globally.

This comes after an amazing $78.3 million from 61 international markets during the threequel's third weekend on release, taking its offshore cume to $759 million. Despite concerns over another COVID-19 Variant, attendance in many markets is actually increasing; following Christmas, the UK surged by 25% where Spider-Man: No Way Home has now earned $92.4 million in total.

With this, Spidey's latest adventure has topped Black Panther's $1.34 billion for that #12 spot, and surpassed Spider-Man: Far From Home last week to become the web-slinger's biggest movie.

In other comic book movie news. The King's Man managed to pull in an additional $14.1 million overseas this weekend for a global total of $47.8 million. That's not a good result, and it appears a combination of mixed reviews and Spider-Man: No Way Home's dominance has stopped this once-lucrative franchise in its tracks. Will Matthew Vaughn now get to make Kingsman 3? It seems doubtful.

Elsewhere, The Matrix Resurrections - which isn't available on HBO Max in most countries -  has pushed its global total to $106 million. With a reported $190 million budget, something tells us Warner Bros. won't be rushing to return to this franchise unless it's to attempt a full-blown reboot.

"Spider-Man: No Way Home is the greatest Marvel movie ever made. Period," we said in our review last month"As epic as it is emotional, this is not only a perfect blockbuster, but Spider-Man’s wildest, funniest, and most awe-inspiring adventure yet. It's a Marvel masterpiece."

Do you think any of 2022's movies will find this same level of box office success?

Here comes 3rd place, once it passes avengers 1&2, to be the only non avengers cbm above any avengers movie.

At this rate, it's probably passing Jurassic World to land just outside the all time top 5 worldwide.

Attendance INCREASING… DAAANG… man this movie just might be the new avatar in terms of attendance staying at a certain level for weeks on end. That could at the very least bring the international to a billion. Domestically it’s got almost the same exact legs percentage wise (with a higher opening weekend and higher actual numbers) as TLJ, which would land it at 733ish and so combine that with Pete just say that billion, then it could reach 1.733 and be the highest grossing movie under 2 billion. Know What that means? Means China would’ve easily put it past 2 billion. FFH grossed 200 million in China. I think NWH could’ve made 300 and maybe pushed it past Infinity War. Dude that’s crazy

Crazy that it's going to get more domestically than Infinity War

@ThorArms - yeah it is. In terms of December blockbusters, if it had force awakens legs it could have contended with endgame’s domestic. Since it’s 2nd and 3rd Fridays were both Eves (hasn’t happened since Tron Legacy), it instead has TLJ’s legs. That puts it at 733 domestic tho, nothing to snort at.
