With a total of 231 reviews, and 73% of Critics liking the film, The Amazing Spider-Man has been certified Fresh. The film also received an "A-" Cinemascore. Personally I am a huge fan of this film, so i am very happy that it has been certified, it deserves it in my opinion. The film stars Andrew Garfield in the red and blue tights and the stunning Gwen Stacy played by Emma Stone.

Now onto TASM 2 news:
The Amazing Spider-Man sequel is scheduled to take place exactly one week after the ending of the first. I am not sure whether or not the video game will change anything about the sequel considering SPOILERS. that the Lizard returns in the game, and New York is almost fully infected by the cross species decease.

So what do you guys think about the rating do you think the film should be higher rated or not? I do. And what about the sequel are you excited or not?

Really? A week after the first?

Not even a month or at least a year?

How long is Garfield gonna look 17?

It should definitely be higher. 25% of those rotten reviews give a rotten rating just because it's a reboot...

I heard aswell that it takes place 1 week after TASM and not like 2 months, since his parents still have to be explored.

RT is a flawed system

2 films could have a 80% on RT

but 1 film could have an average rating of 3/5 while the other could have an average rating of 5/5

the amazing spider-man should be at least 80% rotten tomatoes rating,it has some amazing moments in it but saying that it could of been better.

iron man 2 is a good film,i agree not as good as iron man but some people might like it more, some of you have got to learn the difference between good & bad(shit, piss poor, crap & so on)

all of these movies are worst than iron man 2,here goes...

-ghost rider
-ghost rider 2
-hulk
-the punisher(89)
-the punisher
-punisher warzone
-daredevil

-spider-man 3
-x-men 3

-batman forever
-superman 3
-superman 4
-superman returns
-supergirl
-jonah hex
-catwoman
-green lantern
-swamp thing

now you can see the difference between good & bad. :D

I think your forgetting the rating that really matters, it has a 95% for Top critics with only a single weak review thats impressive! Few CBMs have that high with top critics

superotherside - 7/8/2012, 5:55 AM
TheWebSlinger I agree, but at the same time, I could se if this Spidey is in the MCU, then Garfield could play this last film (where he probably wouldn't look too old) then the next one could be taken over by a different actor. Like Banner was in Avengers.

@ blueberryicedcoffee

its a matter of opinion,i personally don't think its awful those films i listed are worse.

some think the amazing spider-man is the best spidey film so far,i believe spider-man 2 is.

garfield & stone are better actors than maguire & dunst but i think spider-man 2 is the closes to a spidey comic on the big screen.

73% is good, but it most Defiently should be higher. Too many biased critics brought it down. It should be in the 80%s range maybe high 70%s
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/8/2012, 7:48 AM
It being a reboot really killed it, this film had a lot going against though that's why the sequel will do wonders.

Iron Man 2 got a higher score... WTF
TASM was way better than that. Even though it wasnt as good as I thought it would be, its score should be in the lower 80's...

I think it was already confirmed that the video game will have no connection to the movie. It's like a different reality/universe that spins off of the plot of the movie. Both the devs and sony said it is in no way a gap filler.

So you can pretty much say that the story in the game wont happen in the movie or wont exist there.
BooYah
BooYah - 7/8/2012, 10:57 AM
You guys are comic book fans of course you'll say it deserves to be better. In my opinion it got what it deserved maybe even better then what it deserved. No way it gets 80% cause it isn't better than Thor or Cap. And Raimi's Spiderman is also way better at 89%
AC1
AC1 - 7/8/2012, 11:06 AM
The Amazing Spider-Man should be higher than it is, most of the negative reviews are down to critics bashing it for being a reboot or comparing it too much to the Sam Raimi trilogy.

And everyone blaming the Untold Story stuff - that's more down to the marketing department, not the filmmakers or the film itself.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/8/2012, 11:34 AM
@Booya no, the acting was too good, the character development in this was superb. You didn't like it and obviously loved raimi's films and don't wanna accept this one. Raimi's films will always have a special spot in my heart, but this film is superior to SM1 in almost all respects from the emotional impact bens death had on Peter to the man Peter becomes in the end. This film Defiently deserves a rating in the 80%s range it's more in depth and emotional and the acting supports that. Of course you're gonna say it doesn't deserve that rating like some of us are saying it deserves better.
CaptainAmerica31
CaptainAmerica31 - 7/8/2012, 11:36 AM
Also TASM is a lot better than Thor and cap just saying
TheJoshider
TheJoshider - 7/8/2012, 11:54 AM
if the raimi films never happened and the raimi fans werent there, this would have 80% minimum imo. besides some bad editing and pacing issues, it was so much better than the previous films. it may not be the best film ive ever seen, but its my favourite film. 8 or 9/10 imo

leave it to rottentomoates to give stupid rates and reviews. really? certified fresh? there was nothing fresh about TASM. felt very "been there done that". i liked it but i didn't love it. and i can say its no Avengers but Avengers is a very different movie. but i can say its not as great or earth shaking like Avengers.

went to see the Amazing Spider-Man earlier on in today, very enjoyable movie. Not Avengers level of awesome but I really enjoyed it, and I was completely on the fence about the reboot before because I just hate reboots in general

But I thought the origin story was given enough of a tweak to make it interesting all over again. Plus I can see the whole parents story being used as the basis for the sequels. The random guy in the post credit scenes will probably be a henchman of Norman Osborn sent to hunt Spider-Man in the sequel, then it will be Green Goblin in third one

What I also love about the movie is, that its just like the Avengers, an accurate portrayal of the Spider-Man story and its literally a comic come to life. Spider-Man himself looked incredible, [frick] the suit haters

But please turn Spider-Man into James Bond, NO MORE REBOOTS! Just have the first 3 movies in the Amazing Spider-Man series set in high school with Gwen Stacy as the love interest. Then kill Gwen in the third one, introduce Mary Jane as a friend during the third one

then for the next trilogy, Peter goes to college, starts to have feelings for Mary Jane and the Sinister Six is formed by the final movie in the second trilogy

and the next movie is going to be only a week after the next one. Where did this come from? Although, this is great because it means they arent going to rush Peter through high school AND it lends weight to my idea of putting the Amazing Spider-Man in the MCU by setting it in 2014, 2 years after the Chitauri invasion and then the sequel can be set in its release year, a week after the 1st one. I overthink these things way too much, even during the movie, I was thinking how could this New York match the one from Avengers lol

@superotherside
your right, Garfield looks young enough to do two more eaay. But it will mean we WILL NEED a new actor to play the role for the next trilogy, hopefully in a loose continuation, not another reboot

@Spidey31
exactly, they will need to do one hell of a sequel, because with a fresh new plot and villains, it could be awesome. Plus you were so right about the Amazing Spider-Man, cant argue with your opinion at all except I think that it was equal to Cap & Thor

@marvel72
very true words about Iron Man 2 and your list of terrible movies. It annoys me your list even exists, so msny stupid filmmakers. I pretend that only the first two Superman movies, the first two Batman movies, X-Men series, Blade trilogy, Spider-Man series, Nolans Batman series & the Marvel Studios movies are the only movies that exist to me

just saw TASM last night
have to agree with the brother that said TASM had a terrible score...it was really horrible and amatuerish ...so bad that it was really distracting to watching the story ..I'would not use the same composer in the future
the first half'of the film was well written and interesting. The second half was terrible an I mean terrible. The dialogue was horrible, poor writing and you could see the the actors were STRUGGLING to breathe life into some really bad sparse dialogue. The acting was very good but the material was bad
on a positive side the special effects were really great and the subway fighting scene was probably the best part of the the film ~very imaginative and cool. Very realistic looking
but that went downhill with the second second half.
SORRY but have to give TASM overall a fail. It was not executed and managed cohesively , even though it had a cast of really good actors
Garfield gave a good performance as did emma stone, martin sheen, and dennis leary
its strong points don't outweigh its negatives which are far too many. But that's the fault of the screenwriters and the director. The choreography was stellar as was the webswing
there wasn't sufficient character development to create an empathy fir Peter Parker. There wasn't enough building of the intellectaul nerd aspect of PP before his powers to help audience feel the character.
SORRY but even though I'm not a Raimi fan, I have to be honest His origin story was far superior and his coordination of the story, the memorable music score, and building transitions with the characters was superior.
TASM is does not in quality parrallel Xmen first class, the Hulk [edward norton interpretation] or the Bryan Singer Xmen and its sequel.

I have to say that I loved this movie. I don't think my smile went away for a couple of days, after seeing it. In what could be a very blasphemous remark on this site, I can honestly say that I enjoyed it a bit more than the Avengers. 9 out of 10, for me.
Only things I can complain about are 1: No "With great power comes great responsibility." speech. 2: Too many people knew that Peter was Spidey, by the end of it.

Cheers!

Can you provide a link on the one week thing? I could have sworn I saw an interview with Webb and he said that Peter would be in college because he will just be too old :/
