THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: New Still Reveals Another Scene Cut From The Movie?

The Amazing Spider-Man has now been out for well over a month, but a few new stills have found their way online via the official Facebook page of the reboot and one of them seemingly reveals yet ANOTHER scene from the movie which didn't make it into the final cut. Check it out!

The Amazing Spider-Man was certainly successful in rebooting the franchise, but as has been pointed out many times here on CBM, it didn't REALLY tell "The Untold Story" we were promised. Various trailers and stills have revealed many scenes which clearly ended up on the cutting room floor, with one fan piecing an entire sequence together in the sewers which featured a confrontation between Spider-Man, The Lizard and Dr. Ratha. Rumour has it that Sony weren't pleased with the first cut (which would have apparently focused more on the origins of Peter Parker's powers) and numerous reshoots altered the tone of the film dramatically. There's nothing too major below, just a slightly alternative take on a scene which WAS in the film, although it's yet another moment one can only hope will be featured on the DVD and Blu-ray. However, the other two images (also released by the official The Amazing Spider-Man Facebook page) are actually just the right size for a new wallpaper if you're on the hunt for one! The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

We did miss the whole "Untold Story" thing. Thay need to tell that story in the sequel. Maybe they shouldnt hVe used that tag line. Thwy ahouldve explained his powers more. His parents as well.

None of those are from deleted scenes.

Most likely, your referring to the pic with Gwen and Peter but that scene was in the movie.

It was the post-sewer battle scene with the hot cocoa and where she cleaned his wounds.

That just wasn't a shot in the film because it was just a pic taken to be used in marketing.

i think they'll sell more copies if they put a directors cut on the blu-ray,i'm gonna buy it but there will be people that've seen it but don't want to own it.

No. The first still is just some extended part to an already-in-the-movie scene, not a full scene on its own. The other two stills are from the amazing highschool fight scene.

Spoiler alert!

Two completely obvious cuts were made that really annoyed me. The doorman scene, so Peter just shows up out of nowhere at Gwen's window. No build-up or reasoning showing why he took that route.

The one that bothered me most was when Uncle Ben was killed. Peter is on one side of the street realizing what had happened and the next shot is over the body sobbing away. No showing of the build-up of emotion as he crosses the street, approaches the body and how everything sinks in. Lets just cut all that out and show him huddling over the body crying. Lame at its worst.

I don't think a lot was cut. To mean most of those cut scenes were just reduced. Overall the Untold Story was probably more marketing's thing then Webbs. The untold story was Peters parents and that's it. I don't think leaving the major of those scenes in would have done anything more then to add length to the film.

Also why would they need more scenes to explain Peters powers? While it is it's own film, there's little reason to spend a super amount of time testing out his abilities.

@Ranger14- You shouldn't have to say spoiler alert because everybody here should have seen the movie by now. While I agree about Uncle Ben's death scene, I have a bigger problem with it. In Raimi's movie, Peter let the burgular get away because he didn't get the money he rightfully won and felt cheated. His greed justifies him let the thief run away.

Here, Peter lets the burgular go just because he was 2 cents short on chocolate milk. That makes him come across as childish and immature. You took the words out of my mouth about the other part. The death scene had no emotional build-up. I was sitting in the theater wondering "How long before Uncle Ben dies?"

In my opinion, an origin film should be about Peter learning about his abilities and how to use them. It doesn't just happen overnight, which is what TOSM made it feel like. Different strokes, I guess.

First off this reboot of Spiderman was needed in a way...

Just think about it, I mean yes Tobey's portrayal of Spiderman was great, but I mean I feel in part three they just completely overloaded the film with villains. And I mean the butler finally decides to tell Harry that his father died by his own weapon, yeah it's a little too late... Idk it was just a lot of things that they could've done different in the series. And I just lost interest in Kirsten Dunst completely after the first film, just saying...

Now, The Amazing Spider-Man really in my opinion could've had a lot more "believable" scenes. Like I just feel like they did some things just for time's sake. Like when Peter goes being Curious George and stumbles on all those spiders, I mean really, he wasn't hesitant at all... Oh yeah and I thought it was kind of a "middle finger" to the previous Spiderman movie by including the Lizard when they could've just did a fourth installment with Tobey, just saying... Even though I didn't like the Lizard's appearance, I feel it could've played well if everything was done right... Like the Lizard was in baby stages in The Amazing Spider-Man and in the sequel he could've been something fantastically destructive like Godzilla, ha ha ha... No, but overall it was a good reboot... Preferred it to be longer with a lot more compelling scenes, but hey I still liked it...

And yes I know I didn't comment about the subject of the matter, but hey I like to break things down...

Side Note ; I think have mistaken Emma Stone and Mila Kunis at least twice...

So I'm the only one who thinks they kinda sorta look alike...

Yes, I thought the whole Uncle Ben death lacked any kind of emotional buy-in. It was almost like they felt they had to throw it in there somehow...someway because it is part of the origin story and they did just that.

The "untold story" was about his parents, which a lot of people are unaware of. And the film DID cover it, but not conclude it. Dr. Connors knew Peter's father, that's how they met. It helped to drive Peter. I really wish that part in the trailer where Dr. Connors tells Peter things about his dad was in the movie though. Things were cut, but I think the story was still shown to be new enough for the tagline to make sense.

@Nostalgic14- They only covered "the untold story" in the first 20 minutes, then abandoned it to rehash everything from the 2002 film only to come back to it in the worst post credits scene since Green Lantern. At the point, the audience had already forgotten Peter's parents were involved.
