The wildcard of comicbook films and films for the year, The Amazing Spider-Man has a stellar cast but has gotten mixed reception due to the changes to some character origins and backgrounds. Though based on mostly the Ultimate Spider-Man comics and partly of the original comics (Ditko Lizard), Marc Webb whom this film is gonna make has had the challenge to stay true to the comics while in attempt to reboot the Spider-Man franchise.

Newest trailer

The trailer does a very good job in trying to tell the films premise and show some of the amazing (no pun intended) action sequences without showing us the film. The Lizard looks fantastic (although still not happy about the origin change, although it makes sense to in some way), when first showed the first person POV it gave me a headache. But in this trailer, it gave me a thrilling, adrenaline rush. Especially in 3-D. I was never happy with the idea of rebooting one of my favorite childhood films but this could be excellent. I actually recently watched The Social Network and I can happily say that I LOVED Andrew Garfield's performance in that film, BUT I am still skeptical on whether he can pull this off.

The burning car scene in the trailer (picture at begining of article) is actually an intruging shot for me, like most. I really don't know if this is their way of having a insane bridge sequence (almost like paying homage in some sense to the original)or it could be something completely different. My theory is that Dr.Ratha is in the car, or at least one of them that's hanging over the bridge, but the flaming car seems more logical.

Action

Back to the POV part of the film, it gave me such an intense rush of excitment in 3-D. The action scenes that I can garuntee that'll be the biggest in the film is the scene at the school/library and of course the final battle. The acrobatics and web slinging in the film look so realistic (the way he bounces) and it just looks so smooth the way it happens. James Vanderbilt, by judgment of this trailer has delivered on the action as well has handling the character development well. The picture above is another scene I'm gonna be looking forward to because of how intese and swift the still makes the scene to come off as.

Batman wannabe? I think not and here's why

Batman and Spider-Man are completely different characters and their styles are completely different. Yes, there are similarities as far as changing up the origin a bit but in different ways as well as adding something completely original to it like a character or an original story.

Final thoughts

Batman Begins wannabe? No. But with the fast paced, acrobatic style of Spider-Man and how smooth his swinging is in the trailer just gives an organic feeling to it. Despite some changes, and some drastic changes to a chracters background or origin, Marc Webb knows what he is doing and James Vanderbilt looks as if he definately gave us a character driven film with action sequences at the right times. I am gonna praise the trailer for the film in this last article of the film (where I just talk about the whole thing specifically) and I'm gonna say July 3rd needs to be here.

Also, I just came up with a theory of the old man in the trailer. Possibly a new version of Adrian Toomes? Just a thought of him potentionally being the next villain.

Whataya think of the theory and just in general? Comment below and please be respectful. NO MARVEL VS DC WAR, ANY COMMENTS THAT GO ON AND ON BACK AND FORTH ABOUT THAT WAR WILL BE DELETED. Thank you. Hope you enjoyed.

Why are you unhappy about the lizard's origin?

@Kalel219: I'm unhappy because they didn't keep it how it was in the comics but at the same time that's what comes with CBM's, Change. His origin makes sense for the movie and that's all that matters and for all I know, after watching the movie I could have a different opinion. Who knows.

Although I can't say I'm certain that Andrew can pull this role off in the film, every other performance of his that I've seen tells me that it's certainly possible and that he can be a better Peter Parker/Spider-man than Tobey. If you haven't, definitely check out Boy A, I'm Here, Never Let Me Go and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Each role shows a sort of tragic, emotional and humorous element that makes me feel Andrew was a great choice.
