Promoting his new movie, Brandon Routh was asked by Lynn Barker of Teenhollywood.com about what he would have liked to see done differently when he played the Big Blue Boyscout six years ago.

TeenHollywood: "Let’s get this out of the way. Bryan Singer, who directed you in Superman Returns, seems to be having this nostalgic look back thinking about what he could have done differently. How do you feel about your Superman movie now that there will be a new one?"

Brandon Routh: "I loved the movie, I’ll stand by it. Did it do everything that everyone wanted; that every fan boy and girl wanted? No. Do I think there should have been more fighting in it? Yes. It would have been great to have some fighting. Would I have liked to see more of Brandon as Superman flying, versus CGI Superman flying? Yes, because I just think that pulled me out of the film a little bit.

They did an amazing job, but there were still some shots were not as good as the real thing, honestly. I’m six years older now than I was then. I’m so much more mature, so I feel like I could have brought even more reverence and more maturity to the character than I could then. But other than that, I’m really happy with it. "

@MrReese- Well played my friend! =D

@Superguy- Great article and great for Routh to admit the film sucked balls and didn't appeal to (in his own words people) - everyone, fans or even the target FEMALE audience. LOL

Routh said it himself people...

I still can't believe Superman Returns was meant to be a CHICK FLICK!!!! No wonder Superman has been a laughing joke in terms of films as of late- he needs a good, modern film with FU*KLOADS of action.

As for Bryan Singer...I hope that dipshit won't go anywhere near Superman ever again.

People need to realize we may not be getting a full-on trilogy out of this new Superman film. That being the case- I blame Singer for that. WB admitted that had SR worked back in 2006, they would have had a sequel by 2009 and the third obviously by 2012 (just in time to meet the deadline for the Siegel heir lawsuit of 2013)

See my point?

Singer's Superman film was sooooo fu*king terrible, it ruined the possibility of an actual trilogy happening and I don't blame WB for pulling the plug on Singer- hell I wouldn't trust that guy to direct another DC film in general after what he did to Superman.

What I DO blame WB for is the fact that they had soooo much blind-faith in Singer, they actually allowed the douchebag to release his film without even PRE-SCREENING it first. Had they pre-screened it like they usually do with their films, they MIGHT have caught all the flaws. But again...what's done is done...and what Singer grabs- he fu*ks. And he fu*ked Superman...BADLY.

People may not agree with me and may not like what I'm saying but fu*k it- TRUTH HURTS SOMETIMES.

;D
