X-Men 2 screenwriters Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris have now joined X-Men series director Bryan Singer on the new Superman movie project at Warner Brothers, says Superhero Hype and Variety.com. The hiring of Singer to direct the next Superman film has had a domino effect, with Marvel Studios and 20th Century Fox now forced to look for a new director for X-Men 3, which begins filming next summer. And there's no telling which camera talent may choose to stay or go now that Singer has left the production.

Superhero Hype also reports:

Besides the recent exit of helmer McG from the "Superman" project, producers Neal Moritz and Gilbert Adler have apparently disappeared from the scene as well. The fate of Jon Peters also is up in the air.

The studio apparently scrapped a J.J. Abrams script that WB once was high on.

The one defection from the Superman movie that hasn't happened, but would be most welcome, is that of Jon Peters. His revisionist take on Superman's history, coupled with his desire for a politically correct, all-inclusive Superman flick makes him unsuitable for the job of producer.
