Entertainment Weekly have broken down the latest Man Of Steel trailer and taken a look at some of the biggest questions raised from the new footage. They have new information on various aspects of the plot, and are backed up by quotes from the likes of the movie's director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer.

Firstly, after speculating on the appearance of the LEXCORP building in the trailer, they quiz Snyder on whether this means Supes' most famous villain will pop up in a sequel, and if Snyder will be a part of it -- eventually building towards a shared DC movie universe. “I really enjoy the character and I really loved shooting this movie about him," Said Snyder, clearly unwilling to reveal too much. "And whatever happens as we go ahead, I’m not exhausted by Superman. I’m knocking on wood. I’m not going to try to say, ‘Yeah, we’re going to make another movie!’ because I don’t want to jinx anything.”

Then there's that glimpse of Superman's Fortress Of Solitude. In classic Supes lore he creates the fortress himself using crystals from his home planet of Krypton, but in this movie they've changed it up a bit. Apparently the fortress is already there -- a "massive craft" left behind by the Kryptonians, and a sign that Kal El's ancestors have visited Earth in the past. David Goyer says this all ties in to Man Of Steel being seen as a "first contact story".

Fans have probably already guessed that the strange, tentacled "creature" seen battling Superman in the trailer is actually Zod's ship, The Black Zero. “It was prison ship that he retrofits, and that’s what he comes to Earth in,” says producer Deborah Snyder. And remember that giant Dragonfly thing from the trailer's opening shots? That's Jor El's ride, “Herocka.” “It has insect wings, but has kind of a rodent-ish face,” explains Snyder. “At first he was a little mean, but we made him look more sympathetic.”

EW also have a pretty detailed breakdown of those last few shots from the trailer of Supes and his tormentors engaged in some fisticuffs, so be sure to click the link below to take a look..as long as you don't mind SPOILERS that is.
