Eva Marie Saint (Ma Kent in Superman Returns) gave away a small spoiler during an interview with Entertainment Weekly for its annual Summer Movie Preview.
"I have a boyfriend," she said of her widowed character. "They probably don't want me to say that, but to heck with 'em!"
Also, co-writer Dan Harris talked about the Man of Steel's role in the world. "We wanted to explore the idea of Superman's relevancy to the world, but we felt you did that not by changing Superman but everything around him."
The plot of the $180 million film has Kal-El returning to Earth after several years' absence to see several changes in his friends, foes and Metropolis.
