More Evidence Mounts Suggesting That Kiersey Clemons' Iris West Will Be Recast For FLASHPOINT
There have been rumblings for a while now that Kiersey Clemons won't appear as Iris West in Flashpoint after being cut from Justice League and now more evidence has mounted pointing to that being the case.
Kiersey Clemons was cast as Iris West for Justice League but the actress was cut from the movie and there have since been numerous reports about her being recast altogether ahead of Flashpoint starting production. Why that is isn't clear but it could boil down to the actress no longer wanting to enter the DC Films Universe after Rick Famuyiwa parted ways with Warner Bros. over "creative differences."
Regardless, Batman-News is reporting that the unfinished sequence from Justice League featuring Iris (which leaked online a few weeks ago and showed her being catapulted from a car before being saved by Barry Allen) is being worked on as a deleted scene but a different actress will be used in Clemons' place. That means The Flash will be shown saving a random woman as opposed to his future wife!
It could just be that Warner Bros. is planning on changing how Barry and Iris meet in Flashpoint and that this scene would ruin that. However, it's also feasible that the role is being recast, hence why Clemons' only scene is being changed despite Warner Bros. spending money on completing it for Justice League's home video release. We'll just have to wait and see but things are currently unclear.
