The Flash has been through its fair share of directors but John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are currently hard at work on the screenplay and hoping to make it a reality at some point in the near future (unless they also run into creative differences). We've had a number of conflicting updates on where things stand with the DC Comics adaptation and now Kiersey Clemons has weighed in on that.
Asked specifically if the movie is on hold, she replied: "Yes. What I will say is that [Warner Bros. gets] to approve every job that I do and, so far, I'm not doing Flash for the rest of the year, we know that. I'm doing other things. But let's hope for 2019." So, nothing is set in stone as of right now and it doesn't sound like the studio is rushing to start production, news which is bound to disappoint fans.
It's previously been reported that The Flash will no longer adapt the "Flashpoint" storyline from the comic books and will instead be a more straightforward action-adventure. Nothing has been made official at this point, though, and it appears as if not even the cast are sure what's happening now.
