THE FLASH: Kiersey Clemons Has Confirmed That She's Still On Board To Play Iris West

Despite rumors that Warner Bros. might be planning to recast the role of Iris West for The Flash movie, Kiersey Clemons has revealed that she's still on board to play the character. More past the jump...

Though it hasn't actually aired yet, Kiersey Clemons will be a guest on the Conan O'Brien Show later tonight where she's expected to announce that she will indeed be playing Iris West in The Flash.

Clemons was recruited to play West by Dope director Rick Famuyiwa when he was still on board the film, but after her Justice League scene was cut, speculation mounted that Warner Bros. was planning to recast. However, while the movie may have dropped any elements of the Flashpoint storyline, fans should be very happy to hear that its retaining Clemons.

In related news, Ezra Miller confirmed that he has met with directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein during an appearance at Wizard World Philadelphia, which hopefully suggests that things are finally going to start moving on the Scarlet Speedster's first solo adventure.

I keep forgetting this movie actually has directors now... it’s a shame. I’m actually a bigger DC fan than I even am Marvel and liked the DCEU more than probably anyone here but Justice League really killed my interest in seeing anything else with these versions of these characters. Hopefully Aquaman and Flash help recapture my interest because nothing I’ve heard about Wonder Woman 2 suggests that movie will

@IronGenesis - Incorporating cut scenes that work i dont know improve that movie and that pretty much everyone would pay to see... now you’re just speaking nonsense

As long as she doesn't say some junk like, "We are the Flash", I'm pretty sure she'll be fine.

@Forthas may get a lot of shit for this, but I do wonder how well the DCEU would be doing if it was retconned into the universe. Like if Bale's Bruce appeared in Wonder Woman 2 or something..

Not saying I'm for or against the idea, but it's definitely an interesting one.

@Brave -

To each their own. I always thought The Dark Knight trilogy would've been the perfect way to start off the DCEU. Batman v Superman would've made much more sense seeing Bale's Batman come out of retirement to investigate the alien threats that question his beliefs.

@Brave -

I have heard your call!

I liked Wonder Woman, but I don't think that tonally it works well with Bales Batman. Man of Steel does for a lot of reasons (both scored by Hans Zimmer, told in a non linear way, and focus on realism)

Wonder Woman does none of these things. If it (Wonder Woman) had come out before the Dark Knight films, then it would be a good anchor, but the Dark Knight films were and still are far more successful than Wonder Woman and I don't think Wonder Woman was able to save Justice League so in my mind all films should conform to the Dark Knight model...and DC would once again be relevant in the CBM genre.

I appreciate the thought!!!!!

@E4Nigma -

Bravo!!!!!!

THAT IS EXACTLY HOW THEY SHOULD HAVE STARTED USING BALE'S BATMAN!!!

You are on the right track with your thinking. There was a very organic way that Man of Steel could have picked up and dove tail into the end of the Dark Knight Rises. But unfortunately, someone who shall remain nameless was not creative enough to think of this costing this studio probably BILLIONS in opportunity costs and continued derision!

I hope she adds more depth to the role. The problem is, she’s going to be compared to the TV version, whose had years to adapt to the character. I hope for the best
