THE FLASH Movie Now Scheduled To Shoot Late Next Year; Currently Eyeing A 2021 Release

Production on The Flash's first standalone movie will reportedly commence later than expected, meaning we most likely won't see it race into theaters until 2021.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. decided to push the previously scheduled March 2019 shoot date ahead to later in the year because the script was still being tweaked and they were worried that it wouldn't be ready.

It's possible that these script problems could have been ironed out relatively soon, but even the slightest delay means star Ezra Miller would be running into a scheduling conflict as the third Fantastic Beasts movie is looking to begin filming in July. This forces the studio to push production on The Flash to late 2019.

The report also reiterated that WB don't plan to focus on any more Batman and Superman movies, and are "expected to recast the Dark Knight with a different actor." That still hasn't been officially confirmed, but the trades do seem to be fairly certain about it.

So, we're going to have to wait a little while longer to see The Flash, but the fact that they're taking their time with the script may bode well for the finished product, at least.
