Patty Jenkins, who is best known for directing Monster, decided to depart from Disney and Marvel's highly anticipated THOR sequel couple of days ago. She is another director after Kenneth Branagh that didn't manage to finalize the deal. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jenkins commented on leaving the production, saying that she looks forward to working with them again. More below:

"I have had a great time working at Marvel. We parted on very good terms, and I look forward to working with them again. I have a long love of superhero films and I'd been saying over and over again to my agents at CAA that I'd like to do one. The Marvel guys are so brave in terms of who they choose overall, and I don't think they had any pause about me being a woman."

I was really looking forward to seeing her take on the character, because I think she would do be an interesting choice. But now, studio is already looking for a replacement, and we will be hearing something soon. Stay tuned.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston are expected to return for a sequel. THOR 2 is set for November 15, 2013 release.
