I have to confess that though I had always had some knowledge of the Watchmen graphic novel, I'd never read it for myself. So as I walked into my local theater I had nothing personal to expect except for all the hype from the fan post on this site. I've read several reviews before going today, and honestly I can not see why the negativity in so many posts. Visually I was blown away by the fluidness, and flow of the story. The actors did a great job capturing the characters they protrayed (I didn't sit there think "Who could do him/ her better, like I have with other movies). I did have a complaint though, I found myself feeling sorry for ALL the characters; btu not sure who I felt worse for.
All things considered, I don't see at 2 hours and approximately 43 mins why Snyder didn't go ahead and release the Director's Cut; which my count 3 hours and 10 mins only had about 30 mins more footage.
I gave the movie 8 out of 10, and promise to read the graphic novel then go see it again soon.
I hope this help those of you who have not seen the movie yet.
