Previously we learned the titles and directors of the first three episodes of the Daredevil series:
  • Episode 01: Into The Ring directed by Phil Abraham (Halt & Catch Fire, Mad Men)
  • Episode 02: Cut Man directed by Phil Abraham
  • Episode 03: Rabbit in a Snow Storm directed by Adam Kane (Heroes, Being Human, Hannibal)
Drew Goddard was originally slated to write and direct the first episode of the Daredevil series but the Joss Whedon protege departed the series for Sony's Sinister Six.  We all now how that turned out, but don't feel bad for Goddard as he's rumored to be directing Marvel Studios' Spectacular Spider-Man.  Goddard was replaced by Spartacus showrunner Steven S. DeKnight who also shares scripting duties on the series.  Below, is a complete list of the writing team, though we don't have a breakdown of who wrote what specific episode:
  • Steven S. DeKnight -- in addition to serving as showrunner, DeKnight's writing credits include Buffy the Vampire Series, Spartacus, Angel and Smallville
  • Christos Gage -- a television writer, turned comic book scribe, Gage has written Avengers Academy, Angel & Faith, The Amazing Spider-Man and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  TV credits include Law & Order: SVU.
  • Ruth Gage --- a television writer whose credits include Law & Order: SVU and Numb3rs
  • Luke Kalteux  -- up-and-coming lighting technician turned screenwriter who previously worked on STARZ's Incursion
  • Douglas Petrie -- writing credits include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Tru Calling, The Batman animated series and the Buffy comic series
Looking over the list of writers,  there's a clear thread of connection, centered on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Joss Whedon.  Reportedly, Drew Goddard has retained a story credit from his early development of the show. All 13-episodes of the Marvel-Netflix collaboration will stream on April 10th.
