Here's some hump day news that should make manga/anime fans very happy indeed!

According to Deadline, Legendary plans to adapt Kohei Horikoshi’s mega-popular My Hero Academia for the big screen. This would be the franchise's first foray into live action, having previously been adapted for television and a recent animated feature, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes.

For the uninitiated, the story revolves around "a world in which 80% of humanity has developed some sort of special powers, known as quirks — not all of them super, and not all used for good. At its center is a young boy who obsessively follows the new heroes while having no abilities of his own."

No release date has been announced just yet, but we do know that Legendary's Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter will oversee the project, and Toho will handle Japanese distribution.
